Love what you had to say about the guys in the group; I agree 1000%. Respect, and there's so much joy packed in there as well. They aren't treating music as just an occupation; it's obvious that they still take a lot of pleasure in what they're creating. I suspect that some of that comes from the full artistic control they have over these projects- did you know that they do their own vocal arrangements, as well as all the video production? For this particular video, Layne Stein (vocal percussionist) did the arrangement and therefore the video as well (site sourcing, costuming, directing, editing etc). When Geoff Castellucci does the arrangements, he does all that as well. Eli Jacobson (the bald tenor) does all their lighting work (and sometimes lends a hand with lighting on Geoff's solo videos). These guys are the complete package, and I'm constantly impressed by just how talented they are.

I appreciate the info 💯 Yeah I feel like a lot of groups go down hill once the industry corrupts them with expectations and all the other nonsense that bogs down creativity. Independent is the way to go in any musical endeavor 💯🔥 They're further proof!

@@Skullzrapper now that Halloween is upon us would you please do a reaction video of Voice Plays cover of Hide & Seek ( Ding Dong ) ? It is out of this world awesome. It features Lauren Paley the Stairwell Siren. Please before it's too late. Also Voice Plays cover of In The Hall Of The Mountain King. It was composed as an incidental piece & played by an orchestra. Voice Play mimics the sound of the orchestra & their scary Halloween theme is absolutely amazing.

So glad you let the video play out to the end. After hearing your story prior to starting the song, I knew you would really appreciate the story behind why they had chosen to do this. I don't see anyone else has commented on this yet: Scott Porter was actually the beatboxer when they were still 425, Layne took over that position when he left.

Thanks for your great, informative reaction. This one was arranged by Layne (beatbox) and he also did the video and video editing. (word was it took much longer than planned). Lucky for us, Layne regards each of these performances as an art piece, and he gave it the love it deserved w/o cutting corners. I don't think you'll find any Voice Play performance that sounds "phoned in." Look forward to more from you...

Don't forget it's all voices, no instruments! If you played Skyrim, I guess your next one is The Dragonborn Comes. If you look in the description, at the bottom they list who did what. They do their own arrangements, lighting and, usually, visual editing. So glad you like them! Keep on keepin' on, man!

Yeah I have the remastered Halo 2 on my computer but I play it with the old graphics because I enjoy the nostalgic feeling. Brings me back to that moment in my life ❤ Moms mean everything to their kids, even when they don't act like ot 💯

What a great and in-depth reaction! It was so nice to hear your appreciation for all aspects of their performance, particularly because they work so hard doing almost everything except the final audio mix themselves. This had quite an epic feel to it and I love that the Halo creators heard it and gave them a 'Legendary' comment! Looking forward to the next VP/Geoff reaction! 🙂👍

The creator of the Halo soundtrack did a reaction video with The Charismatic Voice and even the creator loved what they did with this piece. You are correct that you can definitely feel this song meant something to them even before you get to the dedication at the end of the video.

I'm listening to this and watching you remember....I know how much this means to me. My three sons played Halo I and 2 and many hours of boyish smack talk and firefights filled my living room.... and would now if they didn't live so far apart. I miss the game, the music, and the sounds of jeeps and flying machines. ❤

The video makes me feel like I’m watching popcorn pop. Geoff’s low note: I haven’t checked but I think he might even go a bit lower in their latest release-Dream On. Am I the only one who would love to hear extended solos from Eli and Cesar? I never feel like I’ve heard enough. I’d probably feel the same about Geoff but we have his solo channel. Layne keeps coming up with crazy beatbox sounds-he’s a beast.

Thank you so much for an awesome reaction. Either Geoff the low bass singer or Layne the beat boxer arrange all their music & videos. Eli the bald high tenor does the lighting. They all have input in everything they do but the final decision is left up to whoever does the arrangements. Voices Play is a very theatrical acapella group. They are the absolute best ever. Please check out their site for more awesome videos. You won't be sorry. A few suggestions are : 1. The Dragonborn Comes 2. Dream On 3. Worries 4. Tennessee Whiskey 5. If I Were a Rich Man/Girl from Fiddler on The Roof 6. I Got Friends On The Other Side 7. Queen In 5 Minutes 8. Hoist The Colors 9. This Is Halloween ( the costumes in this one as they are evolving are amazing ) Just to name a few. Also check out Geoff Castellucci's solo's. He always portrays himself 4xs in which he harmonizes with himself. He arranges, produces & his backdrops, props, costumes & he even adds in an Easter egg or to that you really have to look for in his videos. His wife Kathy is his & Voice Plays production manager.

I’m so glad you did this, I’ve been hoping to see more reactions to them from you! Your joy for music is evident and so nice to see! I think VoicePlay always show a lot of respect to the original song, at the same time as making it their own. Rek, to whom they tribute this song, did a lot of art work for them (such as album covers). He briefly appears in their “Boybands in 5 minutes” video, handing them a sandwich 😊. I’m looking forward to seeing you react to them again!

Geoff's B0 subharmonic is mental and is one of only a handful of bass singer who has professionally recorded a subharmonic that low EVER.... Defo check out loads more of Voiceplay their new stuff is amazing... I recommend checking out Tomi p's Medley of Avi Kaplan (the former Bass of Pentatonix) featuring Efe.. probably one of the best things I have ever heard

Some suggestions for yet some very different vibes are “The Little Mermaid Medley”, “If I were a Rich Man/Girl” and “Trapped - Billie Eilish in 4 minutes” followed by “Panic - at the Disco! in 3 minutes” (2 parts - 3 min in total). (the Eilish and Panic! videos are a series)

I agree about what some call vocal gymnastics. Unnecessary. Some accuse Geoff of overdoing the low notes sometimes, when it's not necessary. Ok, he does like to throw in some very low notes at times but hey, if you've it, flaunt it I suppose. :) The fans appreciate it anyway.

Did you look at any of the comments on the video? Particularly the pinned comment! (And who it’s from) There is one shot of a pair of green shoes. They thought Halo fans might recognize them as an extremely limited edition made for Microsoft (only a couple hundred pairs) for another Halo anniversary.

Man…listening to you talk about Halo and “Ocarina of Time” was incredibly nostalgic. ♥️ I only have an older brother…and I spent hours watching him play those games… ♥️ I LOVED watching you react to this song…the Halo music is very special. It’s a bit of a long story but I guess I’ll share. During the summer of 2004, I became extremely depressed… Too many things had piled up in mylife, undealt with…and my mind, emotions and body couldn’t handle it anymore. I had never experienced this type of depression…it was the: I cannot get out of bed in the morning, I have no will to live kind of stuff. 😔 I was tired of living. It was the darkest time in my life until 2 years ago. So after months of feeling like the sky was “dimmed”, not being able to eat…not caring about anything anymore…I finally ended up getting help… and slowly started crawling out of the dark hole. That same summer, my brother started hosting “Halo Nights” on Fridays…where he and 10-15 (sometimes 20 or more…) people would gather in my parent’s basement and would stay up ALL NIGHT 😊 playing Halo until 6 or 7 in the morning... and then people would crash on the sofa or floor for the rest of day… ♥️ I started coming down to watch, playing the game…and the music was shocking, so incredibly beautiful… It sounded: Sacred. Holy. Ethereal. Otherworldly. I just remember it starting to make me want to care about things again…it’s like I was waking up again. This may all sound extremely weird… 🤷♀️ I didn’t expect to have this reaction to watching your reaction… 😭 My “soul” had really shut down to life, and wasn’t interacting with “beauty” (in any form) anymore. So yeah…Halo is really special to me… 🤷♀️ …and it’ll always be something beautiful that was kindled in the dark night of my soul. I think that’s the power of music, that transcends all other forms of communication.

I was born and raised in one of the more “urban” cities of Alaska. ❄️ Growing up, I never thought of my situation as being “unique”, or any different than growing up anywhere in the US (other than -45 degrees below zero for a few weeks in January)…but then people “outside” would ask me if we lived in an igloo (Huh? 🤔), 😂 or if we owned a dog sled to get around. 😂 🤦♀️ (yeah…um, NO)… I’m 4 hrs behind you, so it’s often hard to catch the livestreams. It’ll happen one of these days. 👍 The only concept of Connecticut I have is a well-loved English teacher in 10th grade. I haven’t seen as much of the East Coast as I’d love/want…but have been extremely fortunate to have visited 30 of the 50 states so far. These last 2 years have been really tough for me…as I was a healthy, young 30-something person who got Covid at the beginning of the pandemic…and then twice more since…and it’s messed up my life. Neurological issues that I didn’t know were possible…issues with my heart (that have slowly resolved), issues with my lungs…issues with my brain and memory…issues with my stomach…blah blah blah (Ugh, what is this F***ing plague???). I started my “KZfaq Journey” 11 months ago… and I’ve just been saturating myself in music, music, music…trying to heal. Mental, emotional…physically. I’ve watched literally hundreds of reactors at this point 😂 …and you’re in my “Top 10 music reactors list”. 👍 I just want people to know when they’ve touched someone else’s world through their hard work and efforts. 🙏 I know you’re going through some hard stuff…and I appreciate your persistence (though if you need to take a break, do it, no pressure). There’s community on here that’s literally keeping people going with all the horrible shit everyone’s been through with this pandemic, life crises/world events, etc… KZfaq has helped me stop from sliding back into a dark place again…and I’m incredibly thankful.

Loved your comments on your mother and your right. Mothers are irreplaceable and fortunately i had wonderful, loving, parents that I've many great memories to fall back on to lift me up when sad or down. Very cool video, I've never been a "gamer" except racing games lol.

Hey if you haven't heard Morgan Wallen before that would be cool to react to. He has the best selling album of 2021 in all genres. So anything of his is good but I would suggest Wasted on You, Livin the Dream, or Sand in My Boots. Any of the Dangerous sessions. ❤️
