Sky Dancers are elegant and graceful toys but can easily be turned into tools of war. (They were recalled in the year 2000.) Join host Dustin McLean and guest Asya Pena as they put these dangerous toys to the test.
In each episode we play with some of our favorite toys from our childhoods! Will they be as fun as we remember? Let us know which toys from your childhood you want us to review next!

The same Christmas I got a Dragon Flyz, my sister got a Sky Dancer (Because in the 90's every toy had to have a boy and girl version)

I don't remember getting hurt playing with these but we also didn't try to fire them at each other. Plastic light sabers were for beating each other with.

Cry havoc and unleash the dolls of war! Also my folks go these for me and my sisters and they were 100% a hazard. I can't be sure because I was so young, but I think I do remember my father, a doctor, remarking, "They're going to put someone's eye out," and then trashing them all after I got clipped in the eye.

The Jerry Springer equivalent of Tinkerbell, these heat-seeking toys have caused many injuries. Their super-spinning bitch-slaps have been known to damage eyes, smash teeth, and even crack ribs upon contact. They were ultimately recalled before they could re-enact the propeller scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark.

I bought the Blossom one still in the box for just $70 earlier this year. I gave it as a Christmas present to my niece this year, and it broke after the second fly. The pull cord won't retract. So I'm looking for videos on how to fix it.

I played with these as a kid and they were fun and me and my sister both had 2 of them. They were great toys to play with and I loved watching them fly in the air. And I used to watch the VHS tapes of the Sky Dancers cartoons with my sister. Loved them!!

Saftey hazard toys are the best as long as it's not a serious injury. A bruise or so isn't so bad when you look back on it.

The toys that may hurt you when you are younger barely hurt (if at all most of the time) as you get older or come back to it later in life. I guess it helps pain tolerance for some?

I always loved these because 1) the launchers are BEAUTIFUL and 2) it's was one of the few toys marketed to girls where like... as they explain in the video, was actually dangerous. Like the whole point of them really, if you watched the animated show, was to Do BaTTle iN tHE SkIESSsss you know lmao

I loved my sky dancers!! They didn't hurt that bad lol .. the McDonald's toy version was kinda bad tho lol ... Oh and my dog always chewed mine up too!! 😅

I just found a 1994 Primrose(no launcher) in a bag of vintage Barbie dolls I bought at an estate sale. I had NO IDEA of the controversy about these dolls until I tried to list her on eBay! 😳

They're based on flying Chinese tops that have been around for about 2400 years. And those are made of hard wood. I think I hit myself with one once as a kid in the 80s, thereafter I was just sure to always have my face away from them. An ancient toy, and it only took 6 years for them to recall this version.

@@pryingeyes1551 well, it's good to teach kids safety and that pointing it at ones face is a bad idea. I personally never really had an issue with them. I was careful and slow sometimes when pulling the cord inside, especially around my face. Outside I'd let it rip before beyblades became a thing. Speaking of beyblades, I really like them as well but they _hurt_ as a kid when trying to pick them up with fragile soft child hands. Still prefer the metal spinning top beyblades.

It really sucks that so many awesome things get banned and recalled. Accidents happen, it's life. I loved my sky dancers. I had the ocean one and the rose one. Those, Polly pockets and littlest pet shop were my favorites. Next to barbies of course.

Love Sky Dancers !!! You are very luckyly to have some!! I have some in my own, but I want more!! Thanks eBay to continue selling them. Despite they were dangerous, they weren't extremelly dangerous to even broke a ribe or teeth !! I think Sky Dancers rokected very fasr from the launcher, but not in unpredictable direccions. It was very sad that a huge manufacturer as Galoob was purchased by Hasbro. Galoob did awesome toys!!! Do you think it could be true that 8.9 millons of Sky Dancers were recaled?? For me the story is not completely real. What do you thik guys !! Thanks for the video and regards from Argentina!!

Hi in Argentina! I think when a toy is recalled they say the number of items affected but who knows how many people actually sent them back. I hope they kept them, they are so much fun!

One of the items said this dolls were able to even break a rib or some teeth. Do you think that could be possible 😱😱😱??
