The only types of pirates we see in the games are the bearded things that always want to play sky stones which is even weirder considering these 3 are all different species of aquatic creatures

Gill Grunt has one of the most tragic backstories in the whole franchise. The fact that for years he’s nonstop searched for that Mermaid even though she’s probably long gone and he’ll probably never see her again. It feels personal whenever I play as him in pirate levels

I'm surprised you didn't bring up the fact that the crew of the Phantom Tide were also the main villains of the 3DS Version of Giants. Really big shame that they didn't use that opportunity to put Thumpback in the starter pack for that game considering his involvement lore wise with the main villains, also wished we got a comic story covering how he felt having to fight against his old crew after so long during the events of 3DS Giants.

Wait the way you worded this comment, are you telling me the lores of the console games and the 3ds games are actually connected or even one in the same? I thought they were separate! If they aren't separate then I gotta know more!

@@thesingingsirenz4714 Well, there's nothing saying that both versions are in different continuities, so I just personally head canon that the 3DS games happen shortly after the events of their console versions.

@@LowkeyJouta that makes a lot of sense, after all spyro can't be fighting Kaos and hektor at the same time now can he? Plus ironically I grew up on the 3ds games before migrating to console because of superchargers (I felt the 3ds version was lacking, and personally unlike most I actually don't hate superchargers, I like it, some of the levels are fun for me, plus the supercharged skylanders actually SPEAK other than their catchphrases, do I know why I like these things? Nope!) And I love the 3ds games, they're portable, full of content, and decent graphics for 3ds (unless I'm blind) plus trap team 3ds is easier than console cause u don't NEED trap masters to open the elemental gates, so having someone out there consider the 3ds stories as Canon and important, makes me feel very happy

@@thesingingsirenz4714 I only grew up with Swap Force 3DS personally, but I do wish to play all of the 3DS games one day. Speaking of, the main villain of 3DS Swap Force, Count Moneybone also shows up in Super Chargers as a boss and major villain, which I think is another point to the 3DS games being canon due to him being there, most likely as a nod to the 3DS fans by Vicarious Visions.

@@LowkeyJouta Yes, I pointed that out in my other reply as I thought it was the only connection, I had NO IDEA the 3ds giants villain was also mentioned in the consoles, also I love all the 3ds games as I said, but not just for game play, I also appreciate the fact the main antagonist isn't the same character over and over like Kaos on console, you have Hektor for spyros adventure, the pirates in giants, count moneybone in swap force, and dream sheep in trap team, it felt like an actual variety and it ACTUALLY felt like the darkness had a further reach compared to like... two people

In rift into overdrive Thumpback is seen cheering on a pie eating contest and later in the book he stands as a vanguard around the core of light. Near the end of the book he charges Kaos’s forces and him along with Hothead, Bouncer, Tree Rex, and Crusher use there earth shattering strength and split the island in two separating the Skylanders and Koas forces (I’m aware it’s not pirate related but it’s still cool)

Actually according to Alex ness toys for bobs chief of staff at the time, gill grunt managed to rescue her before becoming a skylander.

In Superchargers, Gill Grunt OURIGHT SAYS he's still looking for her when talking to Buzz, so no, the pirates still have her.

@@Ashdude555 aside from the Superchargers thing it's also worth mentioning every single piece of lore relating to Gill Grunt that existed prior to that point mentions he's still looking for his girlfriend, the official backstory for him, the Ultimate Collection, the Book of Fire and Water, and the Machine of Doom book for instance it's sometimes nice to note what the developers have said but it's also important to treat all of these with a inch of salt (the same goes for instance to Boomer who according to one dev lost all his limbs in some freak accident)

I remember reading the website for all the Skylander backstories but I never read any of the books/comics so this video was interesting to get a peak into those. I am so here for more of these Skylanders lore videos and especially the Arkeyan Empire one

Thumpback did appear in a choose your own adventure book called "The trouble with Doubles". Kaos used energy from the Dragon Kings throne to become massive and all powerful, so Thumpback was summoned to hold him off while the other Skylanders turned off the power siphoning machine.

I’ve tried to learn about all the Skylanders lore but it can quickly become overwhelming, there’s just so many characters to learn about and they all have such unique and complicated backstories. I like these videos so far about the Skylanders lore cuz you focus on good topics to help slowly explain and unpack the complex skylanders universe 👌

I mean, since Skylanders is different to Legend of Spyro, yeah Malefor would probably be different. Not to mention the other version of Cynder, and especially not to mention the at least three (or four if Reignited Trilogy leads to a better sequel like with the Crash Bandicoot franchise) different Spyros. It is a deep rabbit hole, like what Bianca does in Spyro 3 to steal dragon eggs for The Sorcerous to rip off dragon hatchking wings for magic.

toys for bob could change the gameplay and even they could have no toys to life just digital we could have all of the dlc and even could definitely have imaginators and swap force but digital. And for me I would definitely love to see thumps wampa island dlc levels and it would be at price and I hope it would happend. And just get rid of the toy tag and toy pad too.

0:25 Oh boy this timeline you just showed…..is REALLY NOT GOOD 1. Most importantly, Imaginators and ring of heroes are not canon. 2. Academy is an alternate timeline and is not canon to any of the games and I have so many reasons why
