That is why I gave her a little nickname to show my appreciation "Mama Queen Eliza". In my culture, you call Mama not only for the biological mother, but also to show respect to a matriarch that you really like. I was so used to see her on tv since my childhood. She was like the International grandma to the whole world. I pray her son be as wise as her and have a good reign as well.

I was deeply moved by the NEW ceremonial part ..The one when a 14 year old boy welcomed Charles with the words "As children of the Kingdom of God, we welcome you in the name of the King of Kings" and then he went on and asked Charles: "Why are you here?" and Charles answered: "I AM HERE to serve." This was such a deep symbolic statement.....I was deeply moved .....I know that deep routed ceremonies and symbolisms are safekeepers of mystic wisdom and knowledge about what is called THE DIVINE/SOURCE/GOD/LOVE.....and to perform those ceremonies does change the awareness of everyone on this wonderful planet as a reminder of the existence of something that is beyond ........ To truely be King is to SERVE GOD that is LOVE and LIGHT and TRUTH.. ..May we all see in our own time and way that there is a DIVINE KING and QUEEN quality in each and everyone of us...and that ceremonies simply reflect this mystic Truth for all of us so that we would remember when the time is right...... So be thankful and joyful for such a display of ancient wisdom and truth in this day and age... I know I AM ;) Love and Light and Peace to all on this wonderful planet :)

seeing the trumpeters i recall story of Sir Norman Wisdom ( a national treasure comedian and entertainer ) and Prince Phillip... they were at some event and the trumpets sounded. Norman said "whats that?" , Phillip replied "its the Queen" , whereupon Norman quipped back "she sure can play the trumpet" :D

Days before the lead-up to this, some rather durging and tragic- sounding horns were blaring one constant note for a half-hour at a t time, with small breaks in between. When commenting on the horrid performance practicing, it was noted that the performers couldn't play the bagpipes for beans. It turned out to be the rug steamers cleaning the carpets before the big crowds were to enter. Same crap, different day kind of thing.Whatfore!

I’m in awe of the history. Getting to see it and imagine what it was like for each of the kings and queens before him. As an American I have been fascinated by the history of the world, humanity, etc and I find so much of it beautiful and filled with honor. Of course, when reigning for the cause. And not for self. It’s the Sword of State, it was made for James the first in 1610. It represents the monarch’s authority and is carried by the Lord President of the Privy council. It has to be held upright without touching the body for most of the ceremony.

There's a part of me that is caught up in the historical significance, but there's another part of my that keeps thinking of the Doctor Who episode The Deadly Assassin. The cadence and pretty much everything else about the way the reporters are describing the event is so similar to the way that reporter was describing that fictional event.

I watched Queen Elizabeth's Coronation in 1953 and now I've been able to watch King Charles's Coronation. Both were the most precise Military Operations I've ever witnessed. The Home Guard was magnificent, as well the Scotts Guard! Thru the entire Ceremony I saw only one flaw...one of the Beefeaters was a half beat out of step while entering the Garden for the Salute to the King. That, I don't think could be avoided as the Gate was barely wide enough to get the On Parade Unit thru in order. Kudo's to the Irish Guard, and ALL the Units participating in the Coronation. It is something no youngster will ever forget in his lifetime, and I don't think it's changed since the Old Testament. Long Live The King! Good on Ya Britain, beautiful Tradition....we in America have destroyed our own!

Because we in the West don't get to have traditions that have continuity (that has been obliterated by media and schooling systems) - we are now for the most part interchangeable homogeneous products - as workers for every nation.... (what makes me different from a UK, AUS, CAN???-... Coronation is finally, an event that arrives where we can feel this span of time and expectation and horrible change.... people will evaluate the now till then - did life improve, the promise of X where are we now - and of those loved ones we remember, how would they feel today?... ... politicians and papers prefer we jump monthly and are scattered in our thoughts to appease funders and advertisers. Tradition and continuity let us compare - to rejoice - but also to look long-term (outside of voting terms and the ever-flowing money.).
