Douglas Murray calls on Guardian to ‘go for all mosques’ after Garrick Club reporting

Author Douglas Murray has called on The Guardian to “go for all the mosques” in the United Kingdom after they targeted the Garrick Club for having male-only membership.
The Garrick Club - a gentlemen’s club in London - voted on Tuesday to allow women to join for the first time.
It followed a row that had bitterly divided its male-only membership.
“There were some people going on about segregated spaces and so on; well, I’ve got a challenge for them, and, indeed, a challenge for The Guardian: if you’re worried about sex-segregated spaces, why don’t you go to mosques up and down the United Kingdom and elsewhere and find rooms that women are not allowed to go into,” Mr Murray told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
“They should go, and they should make sure that all of these male-only areas in mosques are having women introduced to them.
“After the Garrick, go for all of the mosques in the UK, and good luck, guys, you’re going to need it.”

There are women's clubs too modeled on the gentleman's club but many do not know they exsist .in Melbourne Australian in industrial area according to my Aunt years ago there was such a club it's rustic from outside, did not have name on it so it was hidden and luxious inside . As she was the wife of prominent ceo she was automatically a member !😂

I used to be a barmaid in a social club that had a men only bar and, let me tell you, it was great. If men wanted to be with their wives/girlfriends, they'd go into the lounge where the language and behaviour was appropriate to mixed company. In the men only bar, the language and behaviour was a little more......lax. The men could relax and not worry about offending anyone, say what they wanted, swear as much as they wanted, be free of the social constraints of being in mixed company. I loved working that bar. I was always treated with respect, but it was nice to see the blokes able to be blokey without any repercussions. Men only spaces are as essential for men as women only spaces are for women.

When I moved to Santa Monica, CA in the early 80th, there was a lovely place Boy’s club. My son loved it. They had activities and spots. The local citizens fought inequality and changed it to Boy’s and Girl’s club. I don’t know about the girls, but it certainly ruined it for boys.

Let Women in Men's spaces then a few scatter Cushions later the Women will complain about the sense of humour,Don't like the decor,Men blamed for intimidating Women,How Women should modernize things for Women and diversity and inclusion. Then the Men will feel like Aliens in their own club. Women have enough clubs and spaces to go to,Why can't you leave Men alone to enjoy themselves with other Men,Like relationships people need their space. If it's good enough for Women why don't Women start realizing the same goes for Men. Men don't always want Women around and Women don't always want Men around!

As a woman, of a certain age, who was one of the 70's feminists I have no desire to go and spend loads of time with men! Whatever has happened to 'vive la difference'? Separate spaces are civilised and provide choice. I would rather have them than genderless toilets, for example !!! The hypocrisy is astounding - totally agree with Douglas Murray.
