Hi so my skin is combination maybe kinda oily but a little bit very little sensitive So i dont like have super horrible constant breakout but i do have it here and there I usually have like those small easy to heal pimple with white stuff u can see at the top of pimple around like cheek area or nose Then lotsssssssssss of blackhead at nose abit at forehead and some whitehead at chin area I have quite a few closed comedone at my forehead or like bumps or stones im not sure but def its not disappearing cuz its not like a red acne or anything its skin where u can feel bumps or stones and like blackhead maybe idk like closed comedone i guess I would also sometimes have those red acne not super huge but those red acne bumpy with no white or opening at my side forehead or hairline or neck I have quite a big pore not like super huge but relatively big I easily scar too and easily form like keloid or thos elike become bump kind of scar and right now i got a bit here and there at my face I also have sebacum foliciles or something like that which i dislike And most painful and hated thing is when during my peiod i guess u call it hormonal acne or something i would have a huge custic acne ranging one to three at chin area and i can feel it grow so paonful so hard to heal n just the worst My face overally quite dull n yellow skin Helpppp

How did it go for you'? Did your purging stop eventually?

guys any update? I started using salicylic acid but my skin is more red and I got new papules on the spots where I usually breakout but I also have those tiny little bumps on my nose. Any idea whether it's purging or a breakout?

I also using the same product and am getting breakouts where I usually get acne (my chin and forehead). I was confused if i was purging or not since its pretty red and big but not as bas as in the photos. If you are still getting acne in new areas maybe using it every other day would help with irritation, but if you are getting acne in places you usually get it i would say it’s purging.

I thought I'm the only one that have bad reaction to Niacinamide.. I also have a bad breakout after using The Ordinary Niacinamide serum and also Some By Mi Yuja Niacin

Depends on the scars. One way to reduce it quicker is to use AHA or glycolic toner once every 3 days to reduce the scars.

Hi I know that you asked a long time ago but maybe it still helps. Purging is only caused by exfoliating products, if you are experiencing pimples and irritation after only adding a moisturizer it’s most likely that your moisturizer is not the best one for you. Try to find one that is not comedogenic and is calming. It’s really important to moisturize your face since it helps with your healing process and makes your skin barrier stronger, there’s plenty of moisturizers that you’ll find are really nice and helpful!

In my opinion, I think you need to add something more moisturizing and calming in your skincare routine since retinol has a drying effect (like most acne control ingredients), use a lower concentration of retinol, or use it less often to lessen the frequency of your breakouts. You can replace retinol with other acne controlling ingredients/products too, if retinol just doesn't suit your skin.

is there certain areas you are breaking out in? also, do you touch your face a lot? using retinol is an exfoliant so it makes your skin more sensitive to sun, pollution and any dust or germs that come in contact. If you are touching your face with unwashed hands, that could cause a breakout.

Nowadays people don't really recommend physical scrubs as it can cause microtears on the skin (and then pigmentation) but chemical exfoliation like glycolic acid etc will help to exfoliate the dead skin cells...st. ives is a physical scrub.

St Ives isn't as bad as Internet makes it to be but with the advancement of exfoliators, we suggest chemical exfoliators like glycolic toner or salicylic toner as it gives a more uniform exfoliation without causing micro tears

Last question sir, last night, I'm deliberately tried put that St. Ives on my skin after face wash(cleanser), suddenly I noticed that there were tiny bump come onto my skin??? Is it show that, my show not suitable or cannot adapt with that product? Normal acne doesn't itch, only fungal acne does

Yes you can but beware of skin dryness and irritation. We have patients using both all the time, stop adapalene once skin becomes too dry
