Found a race-specific one rather recently. It also seems very rare (as it has only happened to me once), as a Khajiit, approach a guard with your claws up (unarmed combat), the guard could say "Keep those claws sheathed, Khajiit!". Most of the time, you'll get the "A guard might get nervous..." line. I only heard this once from a guard at Riften's dock (the one near the staircase that leads into the city near the Scorched Hammer). I realize this isn't a "Thing you didn't know you could do", but this would fit into a "Tiny Details"

As a small note, I think I know why Brynjolf doesn't blame you at all when you "lose" Madesi's ring. If you remember, the Thieves Guild is suffering a very REAL curse from Nocturnal that made all thieves in Skyrim fail miserably constantly during outings. Brynjolf is understanding of you somehow losing Madesi's ring because he assumes it was just Nocturnal's curse at work again.

There's actually another method of getting out of Helgen while your hands are bound, if you go near the gate then it is possible for Alduin to Fus Roh Dah you under it, as there is a small space in between the gate and the ground

Dont know if this has been covered or not, but if you've just arrived in riften, and see the scene where Saphire is shaking down Shadr for the first time on that character, then you can attack and kill Saphire right then and there and the guards wont react. Just found this out and thought it was strange.

There are many things about the Thieves Guild as a faction that have bothered me: the fact Bryn won't talk to you after it's all over with, the fact you can't marry anyone from the Guild, the fact you can't help Rune learn about his past (come on Bethesda! I wanted to help the sweet, little thief solve the mystery of his past! I even went on shipwreck hunts to try triggering things!), and, of course, it always bothered me I could never get Brand-Shei out of jail. That said, I know what method I'm doing the next time...

Muiri is disappointed because, as she put it, she "wanted to do more". She wanted to make a secondary request to kill Nilsine Shatter-Shield, who must be killed before turning in the quest. Since Alaine is already dead and you're effectively turning in the quest as soon as you meet her, she doesn't get to make that second request. Doing it this way, you've locked yourself out of a potential bonus and lock her out as a marriage candidate since the Nilsine side objective is required to make her eligible.

I always thought the NPC's complaining at you for dropping items was a solution the devs came up with to stop players from just dropping items whenever they felt like it. I remember dropping items in Oblivion all the time, when I first started Skyrim and did the same thing, I was very surprised to see NPCs react to it.

I've actually done the thing with Muri on accident, but if you do kill Alain before meeting her, you can't get the bonus for killing Nilsine Shatter-Shield

So what will happen if you put the ring in someone elses inventory? For example, Brynjolf's :P

Muiri’s disappointment considering Alaine’s death prior to her contacting the Dark Brotherhood is basically the game locking out Muiri’s optional objective to assassinate Nilsine Shatter-Shield, the last living daughter of the Shatter-Shields and the one who ostracized Muiri the worst. Doing so would’ve earned a larger reward and I believe Muiri’s love. So basically, you killed Muiri’s mood prematurely. Nice going.

The Elder Scrolls have foretold that Nate will never run out of details and things to tell you about Skyrim.

Another way to get out of Helgen easily is to open the start menu and hover over the quest and press the button to show where the quest is on the map and then fast travelling there. It will then place you outside Helgen's walls

Well...if you steal anything from her cabin (such as the note in her basement, among other things), the little radiant encounter with hired thugs may trigger. However...the individual who actually hires the thugs out...is apparently the Hagraven Moira. That's right, the same Moira that spawns in during Sanguine's Daedric Quest. I can't 100% confirm it IS her, but since she's the only Moira I know of in Skyrim...make of this what you will lol And considering Anise speaks of a sister in the note...maybe Anise and Moira are indeed sisters? Iunno, I just found this interesting.

Not sure if it'll be anything of value but north east of The Chill near the end of the map by the glacier, there is usually a snow bear and a snow sabre cat that are friendly towards each other. (Not sure if its my game being weird) And in the Falmer cave in the Rift (forgot the name) there is a tiny humanoid ribcage in the ground in one of the Falmer tents

I knew the littering one very well. I used to drop my trash under the bridge in whiterun. And i am a relentless horder, meaning i had tons of baskets, cattles and plates. It was so much, that fus ro dah'ing it crashed my pc(which is fairly stable normaly).

Hi Nate, I recently discovered a few things on my own in Skyrim and wanted to share these with you, maybe you'll integrate them in a next video. They all concern the use of illusion spells and the different interactions you can create with it. - First off, near Sarethi Farm (if I remember correctly), there are some treasure hunters that will act hostile towards you. However, if you pacify them using a calm spells, they will interact as regular hunters, and even act as merchants with 0 gold. I found that interesting, I don't know if it's the same with the orc hunters. - Secondly, the bandit Telrav which pretends to be hurt only to lead the dragonborn in an ambush in Nilheim towers. I had the encounter with him, fought the bandits in the camp but didn't kill him yet (pacified him and waited a few hours). It turns out he resumes his post pretending to be hurt, which was unexpected - I rather expected him to completely "drop the act" and behave as a normal bandit. - Lastly, this time using the frenzy spell on Astrid inside the Abandoned Shack. She became hostile immediately and herself killed the hostages. Then, when I pacified her, she acted as if I had killed them, thanking me and encouraging me to go the sanctuary. Now when I got there, she became immediately hostile as well as the rest of the Brotherhood. When I pacified the lot, Nazir just told me to pay the bounty which is due when you attack a member. The whole thing was funny to find about and luckily, I had saved before using the frenzy spell. I don't know if otherwise it means that the quest is ruined for you, however I do know the members are still considered essential and the quest "Destroy the Dark Brotherhood" is not activated.

It's actually possible to fail to plant the ring on Brand-Shei, which means he won't get arrested, and you'll still be allowed into the thieves guild!

I have something for you Nate, after the greybeards teach you all of the fus ro dah shouts and before learning the clear skies shout, if you try to shout at the wall of wind blocking the way to parthuurnax, it will stagger and deal ice damage to you and your follower.

I just keep the ring of Bran-Shay after leaving the area and returning. Quest 'complete', Thieves Guild joined, and I have another trinket for my item collection.

Nate, You can play the game without becoming Dragon Born (call it a glitch call it a bug) let me explain: when you arrive at Whiterun to speak to the Jarl which will give you the first quest, afterwards just go have fun and explore without doing the first quest , and now step 2:play as you like without completing the quest and after a long long time when you arrive back at the jarl , you skip killing the dragon at the tower and he gives you the reward for completing the mission , bbbbutttt as you havn't killed the dragon and the mission has been completed , you never get announced as dragon born , and therefore never get dragons to spawn and fight. Which effectively ends up in you not being able to become dragon born through the rest of your playthrough. (dragon bone is still possible through dungeon dragons and locations of them :D) (if you go to the Jarl too early you might fail at glitching the game. (I went there at lvl 18 and it glitched so now I can never be dragon born but I still have dragon bones) You will still consume shouts from word walls and others :D but no dragon souls.

With the first thing: You can get into the Thieves Guild almost no matter what. If you fail to plant the ring then Brynjolf will still let you into the guild. He acts much the same as Nate describes if you 'lose' the ring. I should know as I did fail to plant the ring in my playthrough and just rolled with the punch on that one (though was momentarily sad to lose the other stuff I got from Madesi's stall) instead of reloading the save when I saw the quest update. I try not to reload saves if things go in a way that I didn't want it to go. That is, unless, I'm certain death would follow quickly afterward.

If you kill Grelod the kind before getting the contract you also get unique dialogue from Aventus Aretino

For the first one, after placing the ring in Brandshei and talk to Brynyolf, immediately go to the Ratway entrance before any guard approach Brandshei. The game will progress as normal and Brandshei will still be there at the merchant area.

I was pretty sure Skyrim videos were beating a dead horse, but here lately after so many years it is getting to be more fun watching/talking about the game than playing it...totally had to ride a hawk at least once though. Brand-Shei: Die he will, since a thief, vampire attack, dragon attack and ebony warrior going crazy if accidentally hit by a guard or npc can all occur simultaneously. Riften is the most annoying and dangerous town in the game, whereas Markarth is the safest. Muiri: You're not considered her friend going that route. No marriage, or ebony blade charge.

Spoilers ahead btw Did ya know, in the quest "The Forsworn Conspiracy" before Eltrys dies, you can actually bring the information you find out about the Forsworn to him before he dies and he'll actually pay you for it, like he promised you before he was killed

I actually remember getting that dialog about the imperial soldier right after the game came out in 2011. I wanted to be a legion loyalist so I played as an imperial but when Aldiun attacked Helgan Hadvar must have just de-spawned due to a glitch at the time. It was my first playthrough so I just followed Relof straight to the fort without him ever stopping. I ended up using Voice of the Emperor when the guards attacked since I didn't want to kill any legionaries.

Or you know, just get cought, its not like if it even mattered if youre good at pickpocketing or even at stealth, or that if you ever wanted to join the thieves guild, Bry just doesent care, If he see's the f-ing Thane of all holds of Skyrim strolling the streets wearing full plate armour carrying a warhammer, he's first thought isnt "oh shit it the right hand of every Jarl in Skyrim who kills criminals on sight" he'll just try recruit him to be a thief.

On #3, with NPCs that call you out for leaving trash around; I activated this when I was sneaking around Japhet's Folly (I had a pretty unreasonably high sneak), and tried to drop some iron fillings (as I was overencumbered). One of the thieves got out of their chair, chewed me out for leaving litter, put the iron fillings back in my inventory, and SAT BACK DOWN. I remained hidden the entire time.

Hmm, i just remembered when i was playing skyrim a very long time ago, i completed a few quests for the thieves guild and then when i was close to a dark brotherhood target i decided to just go and kill it as well. I think it was alaine that was the target, not sure since this was a couple years ago this happened, but i very much so remember comming back to the sanctuary and astrid walks up to me, literally scolding me for dishonoring the brotherhood and demands i pay like 200 septims or something as punishment. I was baffled and confused at that because i didnt know what i had done wrong, stolen a few things for one group and then killed a target i was supposed to. I remember loading a previous save and killing alaine but making sure i was wearing brotherhood armour before doing so, but i cannot remember if i got scolded again, i think i didnt get scolded. I dont even remember if i did the assassination before or after i did other quests. whatever the case may be, i have certainly not managed to dishonor the brotherhood again after that.. even purposely trying. Nate, this happened a long time ago and my memory is bad so i may have not given the worlds most accurate description, so if you do attempt to get the same result, i dont know how you should/would go about to try and replicate this. So good luck and hope you find an answer to this mystery. (yes im calling it a mystery cause its mysterious to me)

Nate, your follower can actually carry an unlimited amount of items, as long as you ask him/her to pick up said item(s) instead doing “I need to trade with you” dialogue. However, use this sparingly, as doing it too many times for the same item may mark the item as “stolen”. I’m pretty sure that the items won’t be marked as stolen after the first time the follower picks it up, maybe for the second too. Came as a nasty surprise when I had my follower pick up a ton of excess loot and I kept shifting things around until I realized I couldn’t sell any of it after a while because it was all marked “stolen.”

Trying to get into the thieves guild and be a full time thief but claims they "lost" the ring. That's believable lol

Once I've dropped some flawless gems in front of the Khajiit caravan in front of Riften (I thought that maybe they would have some interesting reaction) but the only reaction I got was Kharjo deadass looking straight at me, saying something like "who's leaving their trash"

About the Brynjolf thing, alternatively if you fail at putting the ring into Brand-Shei's pocket (it can happen), you'll also fail, be forced to pay a bounty for your crimes, and Brynjolf will still let you join.

Literally started playing Skyrim again after like 6 months sober because of you. Monster!

Idk if it’s a bug in my game specifically or what but only if you choose to side with Hadvar and you run ahead of him, the first two stormcloaks you meet will be hostile, but strangely, they won’t attack until Hadvar enters the room. If you sheathe your weapon when they turn hostile, they’ll basically forgive you and sheathe their weapons as well. You can talk to them but basically say typical stormcloak dialogue at least until Hadvar enters the room

Funny... You are initiated into the Brotherhood by stealing a kill(Grelod) from them, and yet if you kill another of their targets(Alain) they won't bat an eye. You could argue you kill Alain before the contract is formed, but come on, where's the fun in that? By that logic you could also say DB never intended to kill Grelod anyway, since Aventus can't exactly pay enough for it to be worth and no matter how many days pass in game, Grelod won't be killed by an assassin and the game will wait for the player to kill her. I also like the idea that the whole 'Grelod' thing is just a scheme by the Dark Brotherhood. They don't kill her on purpose to scout for potential members.

If you get caught stealing the ring, you’ll also complete the quest and continue being inducted in the thieves’ guild while keeping Brand-Shei as merchant. Brinjolf again is super chill about you sucking at thievery! And it’s nice to have Brand-Shei there because that makes 3 general merchants and a smith in that Riften market area
