He might just be the worst pirate you've ever heard of. But you have heard of him at least.
Val Serano is a custom voiced follower, complete with main quest commentary and his own unique questline as well. After investigating rumors of a mutiny, you'll find a bearded and shirtless Serano abandoned on a desolate island.

Wanted to not only thank you for covering the mod Axarien and I made, but to especially thank you and AlchestBreach for being a major influence in my youth having gotten me in the modding scene since 2010. It is so surreal to see you speak like I always have, but playing something I voiced. It is an incredible honor and I hope you're enjoying the mod ❤️

Hey I'm glad I ran into you. I'm using your mod and I love it. However I have a question. The quest marker for Wylandriah isn't present. The dialogue is there because I went to see her and I get them to chat, but I can't finish the mission. Any thoughts?

I believe the original expression is "Between the Devil and the deep blue sea". Swapping Devil for Daedra makes total sense in-universe.

Second comment on a far part of the video: So on the comment of filters on the voiced lines, yes i had fo use a lot of post audio effects primarily noise reduction. This was to minimize the abyssmal recording environment i have since i moved and have been saving for a proper booth. You are 💯 on it sounding ever slightly "tin-ey" 😓 I do plan on upgrading very soon. Glad its still optimal to you

Honestly I don't even think most people will notice, and it was more of me noting it than anything. Absolutely understand that for the vast majority of us we don't have optimal voice recording setups, the acting and delivery matters much more, and you nailed that

I think the sound quality is actually better than other voiced mods and companion mods I’ve seen.

It's kinda fun (if a little bit jarring) to hear voice actors from other mods. Fathis being voiced by the same voice actor who did Gore caught me by surprise.

You should intall the mod that adds the pirate outfit from the creation Dead Man's Drink and puts it on all the vanilla pirates. I think it's called Dead Man's Dread Outfits for Pirates and Sailors (SPID). Would love to see if Val has any comments on the Solitude lighthouse quest or the Windhelm East Empire Company quest.

As much as I adore this mod and Val I can never get past the second act. For this playthrough I am on console since I got that working again and it is better graphics there for me than my old laptop. I did this on a brand new character also and picked Val up sometime in between Helgen and going to Whiterun for the first time. I have carefully gone through each and everyone of my mods to no avail. I just cant get past where we are talking to the courtmage in Riften no matter what I do. Am sad now

Thanks for showcasing, would have been nice if in this new location you opened the worldmap though. All the same now i can decide whether it's worth starting a new game or not. For all the variety in questlines and mods out there i always missed a good piratemod to play along thievesguild questline. However this one just like others add new lorebreaking locations. On Nexus says lorefriendly offcourse but i disagree . Sea of ghosts is cold asf and he's just chilling there in a mild climate without shirt. Can't do it. Between Skyrim and Atmorra is suposed to be arctic climates

Yeah, that whole scene of him on the island was odd at best. Somewhat tropical islet in the middle of the Sea of Ghost? No cold, fog, "ghosts"? Missed opportunity there. And then, no campfire for warmth or to signal a rescue? He sees you and is like just another day at the beach?
