wonderful video, just found the channel this evening. Grew up as a young kid with blowers hanging in the garage and pop chatting with many a well known driver out front. Moma was a flag girl, still have the black and white pics. In my late 50s now and this is what I grew up with-thank you for the memories. If I ever win the lottery I have plans for prestige... lol. Pop is still around and heading back East to say hi next month... in his vette cause at 70+ years he still can't shake the speed. Hell, about 1-2 decades ago he blew the motor in his 76 Indy pace car racing it lol. crazy ole man.

this is what i had in mind as a 16-25 year old in my charger ( wife wasn't impressed 🤠 but i was in 906 or D-8 hemi and mom 🤬 hated it 😁) but after learning something's im doing my 4.3x4.5" D-8 hemi 12:1+ static compression different now in 2016-up ish one of the changes is turbocharged instead and a 7-speed for low overdrive .42&3.2 FG and better gas mileage as it's a big pig 🐷to feed dailying

I think seeing around the blower is going to be the first issue, trying to avoid hitting what you can't see will be next on the list of problems titled " What could possibly go wrong"?

@@jimbetts5164 lol 😂,um i suppose some people get use to it i didn't after 90 days or so and now going for more of a normal bonnet line or making harder to place the fender's/apexline aka from stock SE charger under 4"in and not blocking line of sight ( something i feel the stock setup is really good at as it basically has a 3 point gun sight 1-point ie is the pointy side by the bumper the next is the middle of the round hood bulge ect, the back does have a bad blind spot that after 10+years i haven't gotten used to yet but i think some cameras will fix that as we are in 2022 😉 ) for a 40-50 inch tall torso / 5,9-6,6 guy

Tearing off a strip of double sided tape and sticking it across the intake where you’re going to drill and tap, and a couple strips below where the tapped hole will be will catch all the shavings from drilling and tapping and make clean up much easier.

It's builds like this that makes me wish I could go back in time an do a redo to my career and financial choices where an engine like this is unicorn tears to me. Any real gear head will get starry eyed at this hemi... Even most ricers can appreciate this. If it was mine the hardest part would be keeping it at a tame tune... The temptation to put a party pulley and see what that big BDS Huffer has to offer would be soooo hard to fight off... I'd tell em save me from myself and use red lock tight on the pulley bolts and once there tight fill the allen head in with JB weld! The only thing that makes me go I don't like that is that oil filter location. I'd think a remote adapter would be a good idea, where it's at it seems a snapped belt could take that filter right off thus every drop of oil in that monster blasting out the front at 80psi all over everything including not just the back but the front tires also, plus a high fire potential..... Pretty much worst case scenario.... But once again another epic dream HP Monster build. I've always dreamed of building a nascar spec SB2 street n strip engine, what would be cooler than insane 850 N/A HP 9000 rpm shifts in a car or truck but I wouldn't be against a 1500+hp Procharged SB2 either. LS who?

I guess everyone thinks that they are Dom Torretto 🙄🙄🙄🙄! It’s a nice engine, but that rotating assembly stuff isn’t what should be used on a big blower engine! Guess how I know? Hopefully he’ll probably be running it with the regular pulleys! Because 800+ ftlbs of torque that low just makes a tire shredder! 1.77 hp per cubic inch isn’t anything to write home about on a big inch Hemi! What ever happened to that twin torquestorm supercharged BBC that they had sitting in there engine room? I’m sure those are more efficient than that big hot 🥵 air beater on top of the Hemi! Nice video, I’m sure it will get lots of hits! I honestly love to see what Keith Dorton is doing! He knows how to make power with just about anything! He also knows efficiency! I loved that video when he made 1000hp with 250ish cubic inches, w only 10psi! 4 hp per cube, while not even trying is doing something! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

Thanks! Great build! This was very helpful for my 572 KB block 10-71 efi with water/methanol injection build. No, its not "cheap" HP BUT Your motor will make many times more horsepower hours than any "modern" one due to much more iron handling way less cylinder pressure and rpms! Also torque and rotating mass matter when you slap the next gear, Remember, no automotive engine on the planet makes more hp than a nitro gen 2 top fuel 12k hp motor! had to pretty much spec my own cam because of no good answers from major builders. I guessed and speced a crower mech roller at the exact same duration and centerline with .645 lift. (Best to Use For Hemis Only lifters for the KB block) Looks like I got it right! I will assemble it then have it dynoed. Having FHO do all the machine work with custom CNC stage v race heads. I have a TBS stripped 10-71 and bugcatcher efi. I was told by both FHO and Ray Barton to go with Callies crank and rods over anything else for racing north of 1k hp. Told them I wanted one that would live a long time on alky at 2500hp for later resale My shortblock will be good for appx 3k hp, thick deck water heads good for 6k on nitro. Theres a KB water block on nitro running 5 seconds in a nostalgia funny car in Europe with 3 years on it no failures! If you can afford it it may be money ahead if racing it and repairs are needed (weldable and sleeved) also price was almost offset by not having to remachine everything to correct flaws! Using same pan in Aluminum. Milodon gear drive. Everyone recommended no more than 8:1 compression. Ceramic coated throughout. Tim @ FHO laughed at me when I said I was using a blower to get 1k hp saying "it's superfluous! We do that N/A on the street all day! " But it will make it more streetable. Going in a factory delete never streeted 1964 polara 500 fully tubbed, front to back caged, fiberglass/lexan race car that was 2800lb with an all iron 440 and 727 with two bus batteries (hemi complete with blower and trans 230lb lighter) . Im using an ATI 1500hp powerglide. It will be street driven and raced NHRA legal. No popsicle stand cruise in only stuff! What was bottom pulley tooth count? I would really have to under drive it to get down to 800 hp for the street but want 1000 to 1200 with water meth on top end. FHO said if I couldn't get 1k hp with 4-5 psi I had a really sick hemi! Wedges are cool but return cents on the dollar at sale used, hemis often bring more than cost And add alot of value to a car. Especially if you can build it its probably the only motor that could be used hard and still be an actual investment for your retirement. "Modern" v8s are not always better than the elephant! Big hemis arent even woke up yet at 1k or 2k hp! Its amazing how many parts from a top fuel 11k hp motor will fit a 440 or 426. At 6k hp level almost everything! Not so with brand x who HAS to use our motors with their decals on them to compete in TF then backpeddle telling you its NOT a Chrysler design until you point out all the interchangeable parts and say "now if all that fit a stock 396 or 454 block, was painted up stock so it was virtually indistinguishable from a production motor to the passerby and would bolt to a chevy trans, wouldn't YOU call it a Chevy ?" Lots of greatly helpful info. Thanks for not making all the specs "top secret"! Like Don Garlits did once, publishing all drawings and specs for his dragster in a magazine then said "now if you can't go as fast as me its your fault!"

How much hp is that intercooler worth when you're only running 7psi? It would be great to see some of these engines in the car doing burnouts or whatever, even if its a year or two later. You can link the videos together to get more views, etc.

The roots makes a lot of heat even at low boost maybe around 180F and the intercooler with just tap water can cut that in half and likely gain 1hp per 1degreeF

That crow's foot is actually a torque adapter, depending on the way the wrench is oriented it can increase, decrease, or match the torque the wrench is creating. Nice build though!
