8:49 "very chevy small block style layout" You have that backward, since the Yblock came out in '54, and the small block chevy came out in '55.

This motor would be sweet in a tubbed 70 Chevy nova of course with the correct frame and suspension work. This would be the ultimate pro Street nova.

The car is at the fabricator's shop getting a roll cage, new firewall, seat mounts and a few other things. Took longer than expected (doesn't everything?). Hopefully, I'll have updates soon. Thanks for watching, and your patience!

I rebuilt and restored Corvettes for over 30 years and if you need anything for your brakes on a C3 you need to get them from SSBC, "Stainless Steel Brake Corporation”, all of their products come with a lifetime guarantee, you’ll probably never need to use the warranty but its there if you need it. Out of all the calibers I replaced on C3s and that’s in the hundreds, maybe 5 calibers had to be returned, and that was due to a bad seal and had nothing to do with the quality of the calibers supplied by SSBC. Let me add if you have any questions concerning your car like fixing a broken hood cable, a door that won’t unlock, or headlights that won’t lift or go down, don’t hesitate to contact me on KZfaq. Speaking of hood cables you should replace the pull cable and the cross-over cable while you have it apart, it’s fairly easy to do with the car in its current state of repair.

Kinda wish they'd have tested the real 427.. a 'surrogate' engine may as well just be any other eng.

Cleans up and paints the calipers but doesn't clean up and paint the ugly bolts. 😢

That powder was oxidized aluminum so new pistons are needed for the one caliper.

I prefer nickel-copper alloy tubing but I did buy a rusty truck that had the rear line replaced with nickel-copper and was leaking again. It had a rusty tube nut

Calipers are easy enough to get it just makes more sense to buy them from the auto parts store or at least get Lonestar caliper
@joshuahollobaugh73826 күн бұрын
I'm not completely sure, but that replacement caliper you got probably has the original style lipseals in it. Those things are dangerous and bound to fail at any moment. Double check your purchase details and if it has lipseals put o rings in it too.

If only more people rebuilt parts of their vehicles. Often times the rebuilt part can be better than new. Repairs using stainless steel is a good way to give long life to parts.

Not great. The seats sit a little too high. I plan to pull them back out and see if I can cut down the mounting brackets some, but it seems like there is always something more important to do first.
