His doubles let him down time and time again. I wonder if there's a way to see who is the most consistent darts player in terms of averages. I'm sure MvG is up there. It's just the doubles that fucks him time and time again.

Michael getting more and more to his old form. If he manages to hold it he'll be a real force again. Joe always does well against him but this was just a little bit to much. Really like Joe and hope he does well in the worlds.

Real force? When hes at the level he can be he's unplayable.Nobody beats Van Gerwen.Van Gerwen beats Van Gerwen.With the exception of Taylor back in the day maybe.The king could very well be back.Can't wait for the worlds!

MVG on form is just terrifying. Hitting nearly two 9 darters in a row against Wade, The 136 average over the first 6 legs against Smith in the premier league. I think he only missed one double and had 3 single triiple scores.

Well, I just started playing darts and been watching tutorials... looks like most pro players do just about everything completely differently than what is taught in tutorials; I can only assume it's talent combined with muscle memory... and for the rest, they just do whatever the heck seems to work for them, regardless of it making any sense whatsoever; then again, who are we to question the technique of world-class players when we're pretty much happy to hit the board ;)

His average was helped by Cullen hitting his doubles quickly - even 1 more dart to hit the double next go would bring his average down. Obviously quality darts though! ;)

I think they should not count attempts at doubles towards the average since you purposely hit lower than necessary. Much better to use actual attempts at maxing your score for average calculation.

Yes I agree. The scoring average can certainly be separated from the doubles statistics. But I guess having 1 start to roughly cover the whole game is quite attractive
