I really think they should stick with Jarell Quansah. Liverpool have decent young players. Replacing Robertson is very premature. The squad does not need an overhaul. Curtis Jones has looked good, Elliot has stepped up, Conor Bradley is proper, etc.

Liverpool consistently compete in 3 or 4 competitions every season. They can strengthen but that squad is above average in my opinion.

I think Mats Wieffer is the most important signing Liverpool can make this season, both from a Slot perspective (as he is arguably the most important part of Slots system and obviously understands it) and from a Liverpool perspective in terms of being their long term Fabinho replacement and taking over from Endo

I would prefer Alan Varela as DM, because Zubimendi is not physical enough imo and another RW (maybe Kudus), not because I don't rate Olise, I think he's amazing, but we can't have another injury prone player in our squad, it's too risky.

I know he's not the tallest, but he's 5'10, not 5'8 which makes a bit of a difference and also, he's really stocky/bulky, so he does play a physical game. Definitely more physical than Zubimendi. I don't mind Wieffer, he's great as well, but I think Varela is better and has potential to be one of the best DMs in the world. Besides, I would love an argentinian partnership in the middle of the park with Varela and Macca.

Obviously there's exceptions but I'm just not a fan and even less of grabbing players from a club a manager just left then brings. Again exceptions like say if we'd of got xabi and he brought wirtz he is an absolutely exceptional talent. I would actually look at them to get players because come summer this is gonna be another Monaco situation I feel for Bayer.

@@andybyrne50 Regardless of the power struggle for influencing players to sign, I still believe signings like Hancko or Wieffer would be beneficial for Liverpool and in line with the club policy, as far as I know. Obvs, I'm a Roma fan, so Idk the specifics of the club. Personally, I don't even think Liverpool need too many signings, just a couple to adapt to Slot's ball. Lobotka, Wieffer, Hancko, Olise (if Mo is leaving), ecc..

5. Back up goalkeeper ( Not sure if Kelleher will stay and deserves game time) 4. Alexander Bah ( in case Trent moves in midfield we need to sign a solid right back to compete and rotate with Bradley. 3. Gonçalo Inácio ( need a Matip replacement and feel is top replacement despite being a left footed centre back. He has a bright future, would suit Slot system and has a £60 million release clause it would be a stealer. 2. Mats Wieffer. As good as Endo has been. We need someone for long term, knows Slote and May be can help us win Premier league and CL. 1. Alexander Issak would a heavy price tag and not sure if the owners would spend £100 million. Only way I can see this happen is if we sell Nunez and from the profit generated.

I've loved having Olise at Palace. Such a joy to watch. His injuries this season have been problematic, for sure, but I also think it's fair to call it an outlier for him. Vieira bedded him in slowly in his first season and he still got 26 matches played, followed by 37 the next season. Olise also takes essentially zero time to get back up to speed when returning to play. The kid's a baller and has probably earned the right to choose where he goes next.

I think he is a better goalscorer than the three of them, but I think it will depend on the team/system he plays for if he would be succesful or not. His overall game/general play or however you want to call it is not that great, kind of similar to Haaland, I would say it's even worse than Haaland's. He's not a great passer, sloppy in possession and his offside awareness is poor, similar to Darwin. If he was 50-60 million, then maybe it's worth the risk, but as a Liverpool fan, I don't think we need to commit most of our budget to a striker that has at least 2 or 3 big deficiencies in his game. If Salah stays and put his goalscoring boots again, I would much rather a facilitator up top, similar to Firmino with who Salah worked best. Maybe Zirkzee, Cunha or someole like that (max 60 million)

The Salah replacement should be Jared Bowen imo, might be a bit of a rogue shout but he covers the same positions Salah does and his numbers are similar to what Slahs were pre Liverpool aswell

Bowen is a decent player but turning 28 next season, he's in his prime so we'd have to pay top price with resale value likely to be much lower. This isn't happening. FSG and Edwards will only spend big for young talent.

Liverpool have a transfer model that signs players of a certain profile which generally consist of under 24/25 at a push, proven in Europe and will improve his status to sell once they reach 28/29 and won't break the bank. Not to mention all the stats that Michael Edwards uses to predict the rise peak and decline of a footballer to negotiate a better price. We don't tend to buy footballers from the prem because the price is always 20 mill on top because they've proven they can do it in the big league. We are proper bargain hunters.

People shouldn't be thinking it's Darwin or bust with LFC. Though he played a lot this year. Jota scores goals and should start when fit. Darwin a great player to have to play lesser games, still developing. Will come together next season I think. Another young option should be on the cards though. Most need a Salah replacement, even if he stays (hope not a new contract would be madness IMO given the money he'll want) he's near the end. Elise too risky for the money with his injuries. Then a CDM that can push Endo to back-up (though he was bloody good this year when he got going, but then ran out of legs at the end).

Let me put some order cause that's ridiculous.Liverpool do need a new left-footed CB(Matip replacement) and a young promising, line-breaking DM.I have two suggestions, which are pretty realistic from my point of view -Goncalo Inacio-60 mil release clause-left-footed CB, strong, ball-playing, one of the best in Portugal -Teun Koopmeiners-he has already asked Atalanta to leave at the end of the season.Not only he is nice, promising DM, but he is participating in attacks also. -Wiefer-why doesn't Slote bring his DM to Anfield?

Very good opinions and player reviews. Some good options going forward. Liverpool already have very good options throughout the team but the midfield particularly the number 6 has to be the top option. I'm glad these chaps agreed as well. Some decent shouts but for me the young centre back mentioned and isak would be amazing. The latter in particular; he's got the star quality and he's exceptionally composed. I'm just concerned about Slot, is he the man? Incredibly underwhelming appointment so perhaps it doesn't matter who's signed

We do need a striker, central defender with a left foot and good cdm. Anything more than that will be a bonus. Of course Kelleher might leave as well as Mo and then 2 more transfers will be needed.

Seen links for James Trafford to Liverpool to replace kelleher. Would be a decent back up. Slot should bring 3/4 players with him that know his system. Wieffer is a must as a young holding midfielder. Geertruida said he would love to follow slot and is very versatile. Then either bring Gimenez to replace Nunez and/or Hancko as a a left footed cb which Liverpool are after

I dont get why everybody talks about like players over 30 "come towards the end of their career".. Salah has lost a bit of pace and 1v1 quality but his playmaking ability has improved sooo much the last 2-3 seasons. Same for VVD, Robo who stepped up big time the last couple of games aswell despite the team performing worse.

My thoughts in what we need for next season. Costas to leave, as I feel he's been the cause if mo's dip. Mo to realise if he wants a new contract, it should be no extra to what he is earning. Less with his age. Same with virgil. Leave the transfer strategy to Edwards, he knows his stuff 🤫. As for Darwin, he just needs to calm down and stop rushing everything and he'll do OK, he definitely puts too much pressure on himself 🤷♂️

Liverpool doesn't buy any player who doesn't have a resale value. With Edwards It is certain to happen. As with manager they go for Slot to whom no one expected. Edwards always known for silence deals.

5: I would take Ait-Nouri @ Wolves over Milos Kerkez. I do agree Nunez needs to be sold and replaced, I think Oshimen is a bold expensive signing for sure. I like him. 4: I think, Kelleher deserves to play first team football, so buying a new number 2 would be a good idea. the Yoro guy I've heard of before, I don't know if he's good or not. 3: Olise would be fantastic, so would Hancko since he know the system. 2: here I would go with Isak, he is fantastic and Darwin needs to go. 1: I agree that Paulinha is the number 1 man we need this summer. I like Endo, but he has glaring weaknesses. Paulinha is sensational. but his problem is his age. But I agree that that is the right area to target. CDM is a must this summer.
