True North Angler....Thanks!! I didn't have to travel a long distance to find these fish...Actually only tried about 10 different spots....It rarely happens that way!! The Refuge is a nightmare to navigate because of all the lime rock bottom & this keeps most of the people out because getting towed out after losing your lower unit is slim!! There are places up there where I'm the only person that ever fished the back country & this is the reason why the fishing is this good....Thanks 4 dropping by from across the border!!

Nice snook. We used to have them down here. But... you have to go further south closer to Padre Island area. I really don't think I have seen any KZfaq Texas anglers catching any. I could be wrong though. We still have our trout. Also, we still have plenty of reds. Great for fish sticks. Yum yum. My gosh, your water looks so nice. Not like the chocolate milk we have. Hey man, thanks for sharing and have a great one.

The Texas Road Runner....Thanks!! Snook Xist in South Texas....I've run across a lot of footage with Mr. Snookster in tow. Nothing like a trip to the Refuge chasing a 3 species slam!! The water stays relatively clear unless we get a lot of rain!!

Jupiter George Fishing....Thanks!! Running may be the most enjoyable part George.... when most folks are idling along I've got the boat in the wind plus on this day I just fell into the bite without running 25 miles!! If you decide to give the refuge a try let me know I happen to know some one who can show you around the Weeds....Have a good weekend!!

PITDAWG1977 1977.....Thanks Carlos!! I've been limiting myself to a couple of daybreak highs for awhile now & have managed some nice snook & reds but nothing earth shattering .....Glad to hear you're finding some decent fish!!

Let's Go Fishing! South Florida....Thanks Icy!! Well it's a long way to paddle & once inside the creeks because you're sitting low in the water & there are so many mangroves blocking your view there is a possibility you could get lost in all that back country!! By standing up and navigating I can see the big picture & there are no navigation aids up there. In all the years of running around I have yet to run across a Yak up there....not to mention there are very few powered boats which is the main reason you don't see any boats in the videos. If I were to break down or get hurt getting help could be real difficult!!
@LetsGoFishingSfla4 жыл бұрын
@@WesLovelace wow, had no idea it was like that back there. Still, I'd love to get in there with a kayak- with a mothership of course. You stay safe in there and keep making those amazing videos.

HCR Fishing....Thanks!! This was one of my better days & I didn't have to run 20 miles to find the fish 4 the slam!! I managed a 27" Snook the other day....that was the largest this year!! Normally unless we get a lot of rain which washes a lot of tannic water from the swamp the water stays pretty clear & is why the fish are easy to hook up in the skinny clear water on top water lures!!

4 Da Kidz....Thanks!! The bite in these creeks is usually reel good in the creeks come winter because these spring fed rivers & creeks are warmer than the Gulf because these inside waters stay at a constant 72.2 degrees year round & the Gulf in the winter stays about 60 to 64 degrees!!

The Shore Fisherman.....Thanks!! Anytime I can this many fish it's an Xceptional day in the Refuge!! I've been running these creeks for a number of years now....It's all trial & error & very few errors because a break down could very well leave me stranded!!
@WaynJul4 жыл бұрын
Looks like you had those spots to yourself. You caught a good mix of salty fish. That water seems to be pretty clear.
@WesLovelace4 жыл бұрын
Wayn Jul....Thanks!! As long as we don't get Xtreme rains the area stays fairly clear....But with heavy rains the Refuge bleeds a lot of tannic which can turn the creeks & the gulf Black where you can't even sea the bottom!! This was another one of those every where I went the fish were hanging out!!

Casual Carolina Fishing....Thanks!! Bill on this trip I just hit the right places everywhere I stopped....I don't expect that to happen again...especially in the same spots because these fish are constantly moving in search of food...But it's a lot of fun to release so many fish!!
