@@MyPalJimbo Shotguns are the most crude and simplest designs of firearms, ever. The first metal and bamboo "thunder lances" wielded by Chinese troops at the end of the Tang Dynasty were shotguns. Some of these pieces shot arrows from multiple tubes too. The Battle of Crecy in 1347 saw the English army bring 12 guns onto the field, 3 cannon and the rest were one person operated 'gonnes'. They were all shotguns firing loads of stone and metal pellets. At Crecy, these guns did little damage to the French lines but the French knights, seeing and hearing these weapons for the first time, thought that the English had sorcerers in their ranks unleashing thunder and lightning spells.

But you need to devise a way to prevent both barrels from firing at the same time. That is a bit tricky: you may go with two barrels and only one receiver (rear pipe), in which case you will need to remove the assembly after the first shot and reinsert the second barrel in the rear, which might be tricky. Welding both barrels together would be possible only up until the point the barrel goes into the receiver. Or you may have two receivers (a heavier gun) but will need to have a switch, a mechanism to prevent one of the barrels to fire the first time you slam but then to do it the second time. A possible way might be something similar to what Gary Coldiron did on his gun: he added a backing ear which, if moved away, would allow the firing pin to yield at the cartridge impact instead of firing. Google in youtube "Cold "Slammin" Iron shotgun completed! Gary Coldiron". Used as a safety, the flipping ear can be seen on this youtube video as well: 410 Shotgun Udate #3 Complete. Or you may build two separate complete barrels (plus two receivers joined by a shoulder pad and a butt) and then fire each barrel separately.

a SCH 80 3/4 pipe ID is .742 or nearly a standard .729 12 gauge bore if you 13/16 drill a .8125 shell chamber you have almost a standard barrel
