Күн бұрынhi guyyyyyyys - back at it again this time with a song from 1972 to shake things up a bit. i would love to know if you have heard this song before so comment down below.. and if you haven't i want to know what you think of it.. you'll find out pretty quick that i quite enjoyed this one as its under 3 minutes. my shortest reaction yet. haha this is a fun song and although it wasn't highly requested i took a chance on it and i loved it and i think you will too. you boomers sure know how to rock n roll, i'll give ya that..

Uriah Heep, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath... Underrated? No! Maybe, idk wasn't born yet. Times were so different back then. People were too (and still is) too conservative. They were pioneers. Thanks to all of them, we have good music today.

The first time I heard Easy Livin' was around age 10. The entire A-side of Demons & Wizards is absolute gold. Its definitely music to speed to.

The whole demons and wizard album was incredible the musicianship vocals the driving keyboards for more than one keyboard player very underrated first time I listened to it I was even 10 vinyl and CD

A memorial for the Hammond organ. R.I.P. Ken. They were my very first live concert in January 1978. Easy Livin' was the second to last song on the setlist and as a young organ player I was completely blown away.

When my wife and I were married in 1972, we bought a console stereo and several new albums to play on it, including this one. Really underappreciated falsetto harmonies by these guys. Amazing music...they were trendsetters.

I saw Uriah Heep in September 1973. They were touring to support a double live album. (ZZ Top opened for them). They were one of the great bands of the rock era. Sadly, except for the guitar player Mick Box, they are all gone...way too soon. Their stuff still sounds good 50 years on. Good for you for featuring them.

Sadly, only one member of this classic line up is still alive. Guitarist Mick Box, he still tours with Heep today. Live long and rock hard!

I first saw them and heard this song was when I was 19 and went to the "Summer Rock Festival" at Waldbühne, Berlin. It lasted for two days. IT WAS A BLAST! I'm one of the guys who grew up in the early 70ies in Germany. The first time I heard this group was during a class trip to London in 1971 in the "Hard Rock Cafe´" near to Hyde Park. It was most impressive because I never heard somethin like that before especially the vocals. It was a song called "Gypsy" what I got to know some days later. I could not get the song out of my head. It is one of the few songs I still remember the circumstances I heard them first. Until now I think I did not hear a Hammond Organ more heavy. I heard "Easy Living" some months later when I was at a Wrestling show with some of my classmates. This song was played during a break and one of my mates told me that this was the new Uriah Heep single. I bought some of their albums and what I like about this group is the width of their musical skills between yery smooth and extremely hard. For me the singer is one of the best I ever heard because he had a very variable way of singing and in some songs he did things that are still unique. "Gypsy" for exemple. I was a junior in high school 1972 this was the first album I bought by them and I have been a fan ever since I own everything they have ever recorded through all the musician changes over the 50 year career! Oddly enough or shall I say sadly enough, the lineup on the original “easy livin” There is only one original member still with us and that would be Mick Box the guitarist! He still leads the band today in 2022 and Uriah Heep has a new album completed and ready to be released! Looking forward to seeing more Uriah Heep on this channel!

I finished high school in 1976, and every year I was there, so was this song. I enjoyed watching you hear it for the first time, and your relating it to driving. Although my driving record is spotless, I’ve always been a speeder. Now I know why! 😉

RJ Dio! For sure. He was an incredible vocalist and song write. We tragically lost him several years ago (2009? I forget) but his lyrics are what metal was meant to be, dark, heavy, even fantastical. I think that's a word

This song is from Uriah Heep’s album “Demons And Wizards”, one of my favorite albums of all time. I discovered it when in approximately 1974, when I was sixteen years old, and have loved it ever since. I’m not sure the band ever had another album as good as this one; every song fits perfectly.

this is very refreshing seeing a young lady or a young man respond so positively to this type of music...you are definitely right about one thing: this type of vocalization & instrumentation is not heard anymore....I really wished more young people would listen this music more and give it chance instead of passing it off as old geezer rock....this is really good music ...after all this recording is almost 50 yrs old...I personally was not familiar with this song until UH released a live album in 73 I was 11 yrs old...listened to that album constantly ...that album helped shape me as a drummer today...never get tired of this song or that Live Album...peace out

@slanzzy I agree with this one, but you should do yourself a favour and try to watch their documentary called The Last Supper. It tells their story in an entertaining way and you get to hear a few of their amazing songs. "Dark" themes didn't exist till they did it.

My dad has always been a massive fan of Uriah Heep and growing up they were always a constant when driving in his car etc. This song really just takes me back to my childhood and brings back happy memories with him and the rest of my family. Similar things he used to listen to were bands like Rainbow, T-rex and Hawkwind if you're looking for music like this to listen to!

This is the first UH song I ever heard and on its own made a huge fan. Saw them live several times and they were just awesome on stage. I especially loved watching Mick Box and David Byron. For sure try out "July Morning" another big favorite.

Uriah Heep had a few hits back in the 70's; this song, "Sweet Lorraine", and "Stealin" to name a few. They were known for their vocals. I saw them once in the late 70's in Detroit when they opened for Kiss. I really didn't care about seeing Kiss 'cause I wanted to see Heep, but was surprised by the Kiss live show. I would recommend "Stealin" just as a listen on your own if you don't want to react to it. For their vocal prowess and arrangement I recommend a song called "Shadows and the Wind", and it MUST be the studio version off Wonderland, not live. The amazing vocal arrangement toward the end of the song will blow you away. Guitarist Mick Box formed Uriah Heep in 1969 and is still with the band, the only remaining original member. I've recommended Black Sabbath before and still do...strongly. I almost hit save on this and "Easy Livin'" came on the music station I'm listening to. WTF????

Congratulations on finding the band Uriah Heep. As someone who has been a fan for many years, I can tell you the lineup you are hearing here is considered their classic. Mick Box on guitar, Ken Hensley on keyboard and guitar, Lee Kerslake on drums, Gary Thain on bass, and David Byron on vocals. Most people choose the period from '71-'75 as being most noteworthy. So this covers albums; Look at Yourself, Demons and Wizards, The Magician's Birthday, Sweet Freedom, Wonderworld, and Return to Fantasy. You will get the most enjoyment with these first. They have 25 studio albums and there is a lot to choose from. Because they were ahead of their time, you may have to listen to some songs more than once before you like them. Take your time to check out the discography. Songs to hear now should be from the ones I highlighted above. Circle of Hands, Pilgrim, Look at Yourself, July Morning, Sunrise, Stealin', Return to Fantasy, The Magician's Birthday, The Wizard, I Won't Mind; all show their versatility in drive and style. The rhythm section on "Look at yourself" consists of Paul Newton on bass and Ian Clarke on drums. On the song "The wizard", the bass is played by Mark Clarke. On the "Return to fantasy" album, John Wetton plays bass.

This was my favorite band, in a great part of my youth. The highligt was when they had a consert in Oslo, in, I think it was ‘73 or ‘74. Magic!!

Uriah Heep…one of the most underrated bands of all time. Their vocals are astounding! I think Queen’s vocal harmonies were influenced by these guys. For amazing vocals check out Bird of Prey!

They're not "underrated". They have sold over 40 million albums, are one of the most legendary of all hard rock pioneers, and to this day they draw crowds to the tens of thousands when they play European festivals. In short, one of THE most beloved cult bands of hard rock.

They were always a favorite group for me. I wasn't a big fan of the Beatles at first but Uriah Heep got me from the start. BTW - they are still around and writing new stuff.

@Mike Thomas yes, but the band has continued - I know to some it is only the same if all the original artists are there but to me, it is a question of the integrity of the style and form of the music and in my opinion, as time has gone on the music has evolved but it has remained consistent - that is, the music has changed over time in the way I would expect from where it started. It still feels like them to me, so as band members were replaced, in my opinion, they fit into the band rather than changing the band. I understand others might not agree, but that is how it feels to me.

Hi😃 I was in Sheridan Wyo. Locked up in Wyo.Girl School. 1980. That was the 1st time I was introduced to Uriah Heep. Tammy Konklyn my dorm mate. She was a tireless rocker. It's been one of my favorite songs ever since!!! BTW, ITS MY BIRTHDAY TODAY. I m 56 yrs today. Happy birthday to me!!

Don't blame you. The late great Gary Thain is legendary as one of the greatest, most influential bass players of all time. Uriah Heep are coincidentally fabulous at hiring phenomenal bass players. The list includes Paul Newton, Mark Clarke, the abovementioned Gary Thain, John Wetton, Trevor Bolder, Bob Daisley, John Jowitt and, at present, Davey Rimmer.

Uriah Heep- one of the best kept secrets of early hard rock. How could one even describe them? Cream meets Deep Purple meets hints of Iron Maiden meets a 70s spy movie soundtrack meets pure awesomeness? You can't go wrong with any of their early albums. For a sample of their less frenetic, more deep and moody side try 'Lady In Black' (I would would say this is more like stopping at the stop light instead of speeding thru, but if the stop light morphed into a cool blue and transfixed you in a hypnotic spell). Fun Fact: The Bulgarian tradition 'July Morning' was inspired by the same-titled Heep song.

Why do people make it out like nobody ever heard of Uriah Heep? Over 40 million records sold, one of THE most legendary hard rock pioneers, and to this day an immensely popular cult band that draw people by the tens of thousands when they appear at European festivals.

Great song, great album. I remember being on holiday in Cologne Germany in 1983 and Easy Livin’ came on the jukebox in a bar, I was like “yeah!!”

Uriah Heep is one of the best bands ever. They've had so many lineup changes over the years, but the current lineup is solid. Band has been around for over 50 years and still making great records, but for me, 1972's "Demons and Wizards" (which this song, "Easy Livin'" comes from) will never be topped.

You are so cool. Love your intelligent, authentic reactions. Uriah Heep has some great songs. This is an early one. Fast forward to the one of the last ones and play "Fallen Angel" for amazing harmonies and a sweet song of lost love. All the best to you.

"One of the last ones"? "Fallen angel" is the title track of their 12th studio album, released in 1978. Since then, they have released as many studio albums more, and the 25th one has just finished recording and will appear this fall.

I have absolutely loved this song since it 1st aired on the radio! To me it really sums up the wonderful feeling of music in the 60's and 70's. Exciting and a great freeing feeling for me! Yay!!!

So much great rock and metal to explore. Lots of comments about the trinity of Black Sabbath, LED Zeppelin, and Deep Purple so of course you will need to go down that road. But since you sound Canadian, I might suggest The Guess Who, Rush, Triumph, Kick Axe, or Platinum Blonde. That’s a nice wide array of Maple Leaf Mayhem. Growing up in Buffalo I was lucky to be exposed to music from both sides of the border. Great stuff.

This is one of those songs that prove you don't always need a tonne of changes during a song, sometimes keeping it simple is better. Kinda like Go With the Flow and No One Knows by QOTSA, pretty much the same rhythm all through the song Another suggestion from that era, Radar Love by Golden Earring

Thank You for playing URIAH HEEP. I saw them back in 1971 or 72 in Houston, Texas. They opened the show with Steppinwolf as the headliners. Maybe you could play July Morning. It is an awesome song as well as many others. Keep up the super work. I enjoy your channel! BOOM!

Good morning, I bought myself a brand new convertible Corvette Stingray (in red mist metallic) -- this is a phenomenal song to blast down the roads with. No tickets yet, but I'm sure there is one in my future. It just has a musical beat that says - go faster. Love it.
