Honestly I think it's the recording that's shifting the notes. It happens alot when I try to record riffs too loud with my phone's microphone.

@@way2sh0rt07grad I have a home studio and have been playing guitar for 43 years and playing live gigs for the last 28 years of that time. I have never experienced a recording, crude or sophisticated that shifted notes some of the notes sharp and some of the notes flat... A crude recording with your phone can cause a distorted sound but not pitch shifting.

He knows about the theory more than he lets on. Many of these metal speed guys don't play with feel at all. It's a different style. You don't need to tap or sweep to be good at guitar, it's your opinion

@@mishswb4950 Who said anything about theory? I think he's a great guitar player. What I mean is that he isn't a shredder so when he plays fast like this, and it's sloppy and not particularly impressive, it seems like it is... unless you actually are an experienced guitar player and can see that this is not where he excels. Slash excels at tone, feel, and melody - at least from his lead perspective. I think he's pretty boring from a rhythm perspective. But the solos in Child and November Rain alone are enough to cement him as a great lead player, especially in terms of tone and melody.

@@BP-or2iu the amount of times metalheads discredit me just because I am a big fan of Slash who also say that phrase or who immediately think less of you for preferring Slash over metal just because he doesn't do those techniques is very common. I play guitar, am aware this particular phrasing of Slash is less musical than most of his. But he knows more about technique and stuff than he lets on. I am fully aware of Slash's influences before going down that road. Its a common discredit that doesn't hold weight. There's more to SLASH than Swert Child and November Rain.

Reason people say it sounds bad is A) slash aint a shredder but likes to try at times. B) the guitar has almost been solo'd its so loud. Even good solo's tend to have all their clumsy imperfections exposed X10.

I believe he is playing in a Db harmonic minor scale and the solo is from his song Anastasia (his live solos are better than the actual recording imo). The person who made this video drowned out the rest of the band so the solo sounds “bad” because it is out of context.

Anyone who can't tell that the mans playing part of the song Anastasia ,can't be much of a fan in the first place , just a bunch of haters that wish they could play like slash tryna say it's trash when they don't even know what song he's playing. They are intimidated and mad because somebody else made it and they didn't ...: Knowing damn well if they had the chance to get on that stage to sing or dance and someone handed them a guitar they'd simply shit their pants and get to be a star .

It sounds good as do almost all his solos, iconic solos. May not be as technical as your covers of guitarists who are way better than you and who spent 99% less time on creating it than you did recreating it. he is on a stage where you will never be. So i guess that’s a loss on your part

He’s written some incredible solo’s and helped to shape a generation. Here he is playing live and just feeding people raw meat. For some reason people love raw meat at live shows. So he gives them what they want. The albums solos are different.
