Hey I have the same mill I think and I see too big of a gap between the slats and the side (a feet hazard) did you just get a board cut to size and painted that you put on the insides?

how much time do you recommend the dog to run on a slatmill daily?

Depending on the dog, two to 10 minutes and maybe not daily. It’s really a broad question that doesn’t have a concrete answer as there are too many variables.
