"The real Black Sabbath is early Ozzy "??, the engine of Sabbath IS Toni Iommi, who tuned his guitar down to slacken strings for easier playing, because industrial accident cut off Toni's finger tips on his last day of factory work & manager from that factory introduced (musically) Toni to Django Rhinehardt who played with leather tips on severed fingertips, which inspired Toni after almost giving up guitar, Ozzy??, he was just a guy that Toni use to beat up at the same school they went to.

😓 You can bet that neither Ozzy or Sharon ever showed ^him ANY gratitude whatsoever for all he did right here to get Ozzy off his useless ass and to find a fantastic guitarist who basically helped make his solo career, with more help from the other 2 guys who helped write all the music, Bob and Lee. Ozzy screwed over the 2 of them in short order too. 😈

Finally!!! Finally!!!! After all these years I finally hear the full story which never made sense to me before this time. Just how the hell did Dana Strum get involved with Ozzy? Finally I understand the story. Now it makes sense. Dana... thanks for helping to bring Randy Rhoads to the big time. My favorite guitar player of all time from the first moment I heard him play... and that song was Over the Mountain. We all know how it turned out a short time later. A travesty. There's no "but" to add here. Randy will forever be a legendary guitar player from the 80s. His music will live on forever.

Dana also knew a LOT of people in Hollywood, which is a huge reason why he got hooked up with Ozzy. Randy didn't even want to audition. He didn't like Sabbath's music and it was only because his mom practically pushed him out the door that he went. He was content being in QR and teaching at Musonia. So between Dana AND Randy's mom, if they both hadn't played a part, it would've taken longer for us to hear of Randy. I don't think that Randy would've stayed an "unknown" for long. His talent was too huge to be contained forever.

@William Jeffersoninsecure hacks thinking I'm a moron is funny, especially when I'm confident they're less educated than me I get why some might think I'm a moron since I use logic and common sense, which is their kryptonite. @William Jefferson again, those people on there making themselves feel better by pretending I'm mentally challenged or dumb because of an innocuous music take is great entertainment for me. You should see my work on metalhead groups where they come hard at me, and it Inevitably leads to them getting knocked out with a verbal combo and them having to block me. As soon as someone gets into the ad hominem attacks, I know I've hooked them. But I question when saying the sky is blue is tantamount to trolling. I only believe what I say because I understand reality. Not much trolling in pointing out Randy Rhoads or ed van halen are A leagues....

I started playing guitar in 85 because I heard a dude playing Ozzy in his garage with a drummer buddy of his. 2 weeks later I had my first guitar and became obsessed. 30 plus yrs later I still listen to NOTHING but 80s metal- Ozzy, Ratt, Dokken,Scorpions, etc. This was the most important interaction or alignment of the stars in my existence, and I was just a drop of water in an endless sea. I was actually pissed when the meeting with Randy and Ozzy the day after the audition wasn't elaborated on. Dana's Ozzy impression is pretty damn good. Steve

The ‘combo amp’ of Randy’s Dana is refers to was a Pignose amp-a truly tiny little amp you can hold in one hand that has KILLER tone. Seriously, these amps sound incredible-especially miced up. What a lot of people don’t realize is that smaller speakers ‘break up’ better and sound HUGE under a microphone-You get massive tone and sustain, and crazy good distortion. In fact, many guitar legends use them in the studio, and that’s what Randy had that day.

What an amazing retelling of a legendary story! Thank you Dana, not only for the story but for introducing these two people that have made such a monstrous impact on my life together. One of music's most important moments in history and you made it happen!I couldn't possibly thank you enough! Also, by far the est Ozzy impersonation I've everheard!!!

Love all things Randy and this is a great story to hear!! Now if we could only get one of the many professionally filmed shows that Sharon's been sitting on for 39/40 years that she absolutely has!! I can't think of any musician who deserves to be seen in all his glory more than Randy!!

Dana's a great storyteller. I rarely watch KZfaq videos all the way through but this was the exception...and it was exceptionally entertaining. As a lifelong Randy fan that's the story I wanted to hear.

@@robertb67 it was a great show so much fun. Concerts are never going to be that fun again. Anyway, stick it to ya was.a killer album from Slaughter. I was huge into Faster PussyCat at that time tho. Also I miss cassette tapes. I used to jam out to Smashes, Thrashes and hits from Kiss all the time just a a year before this concert.

@@robintaylor7355 You sound like you have a cool mom. A lot of moms didn't allow their teens to go to concerts, so the teens had to make up a story lol. My parents were pretty cool about me going.

Dana is such an intelligent guy, His parents were both scientific geniuses (look up his dad Dr Felix Strumwasser) so it figures! What a great storyteller, no addictions so recalls it all like yesterday and his Ozzy impersonations are totally accurate, take it from a Brit! Keep up the great work with these interviews guys, tremendous stuff 🤘

The paper Ozzy gave Dana is in my opinion, a serious piece of Rock memorability. It was a link in a change of events that changed the course of lives, that continued to make history for 40 more years, People in my High School sneered at me when I’d play Crazy train, now today I here it on tv commercials. Great story, that Dana is a very funny dude.
