Peculiarities: the source reflects Czech-Moravian (Pannonian?) dialect features, except for the first page which shows Macedonian-Sthokavian features.
Original script: Glagolitic
Known for: the oldest preserved and discovered text written in the Slavic language, the heritage of all Slavs. Old Church Slavonic made influence on creation of every slavic literary language
Dated: Between 950 and 1000; first page around 1100
Place of origin: probably Prague, Czech Republic; first page somewhere between Dubrovnik and Macedonia (Macedonian Church Slavonic)
Synopsis: Missal, a book used for lithurgy.
Number of preserved pages: 13 on 7 sheets
Discoverer: Archimandrite of the Russian Orthodox Church Antonin Kapustin (1817-1894) in 1870
Place of discovery: Orthodox monastery of St. Catherine on Mount Sinai
Storage location: National Library of Ukraine, Kiev
First publication: Izmail Ivanovič Sreznjevski (1812-1880), 1874.
