It's one damage down from beeing as good as the vanilla upgrade, also I think he misremembered the upgrade as beeing poison up instead of one more throw

I honestly think that play was the only reason he lost the run. Sure, he took a bit of damage on the last fight, but that's cause multiple enemies are a great counter against this kind of deck. Everyone else is talking about how he took way to many madness', the worthlessness of envenoming, etc. But that one misplay is the thing that really fucked NL over. Perfect example of how you should consider all other options before making a decision in this game.

@@Jacob-hv7jz the reason he was in the position where the one misplay killed him is because of the deck building mistakes. If he was able to consistently draw blocks he could have won, but every madness and the parasite curse made that harder. Honestly, the misplay in that fight meant very little because he almost certainly would have lost to the bosses with his setup, even if piloted perfectly in the fight.

i think he once or twice removed strikes so agressively that he didn't have any offense anymore and since then he avoids it. Standard Egg MO

its really difficult to win with 10 basic cards if u have no draw cards ( he doesnt seem to see any value in draw) u can get basically 2 dead turns, 2 dead turns in 3rd and 4th act = death

He seems to like using exclusively to make 1 energy cards cost 0.

Madness would've been much better if he was willing to upgrade them to actually make them always cost-efficient.

Exactly what I thought. 2 Madness is okay because he had a couple 2-costs cards and 1-cost cards that benefit from being 0-cost, but 4 Madness is just dead draw in the deck he made. There were a lot of times where he drew a useless Madness instead of something potentially life-saving or fight-ending.

Dominik Batók 4 Madness was probably much, but he definitely had enough defensively with double footwork+. Wraith form would have worked well, especially with the madness he took! But aside from the fire potion, what other potion was used poorly

@@IkEisawesome7 He did have double footwork, but he just flat out didn't have enough cards that provided block or the card-draw to draw into them. Soo many times he took damage just because he didn't draw cards that said "block" on them. Potions: 4:50 uses artifact potions just because he felt like it against Lagavulin on the first turn. The potion saved him 4 health, that's really bad. An artifact potion has a much much higher potential. 8:05 uses skill potion against Hexaghost in the first turn. Why? Literally did nothing again. At least use it on the second turn when Hexaghost is attacking to get a free block or something. Both of these potion uses were absolutely awful. And that's just the first two in the run, not gonna go through the rest of the video.

He gets terribly fixated on the theme of the deck. He saw envenom and went WELL THIS IS ALSO GREEN

it cant be useful if he doesnt have attacks (even tho in sneko skull + bouncing flash + 3x poison early game, which is basically free win run) u dont need any atacks xD

when he picked venom it was honestly okay if he then prioritized picking up some cloak and daggers and not filling his deck with madness curses so he could reliably get it out, at the time it was good to ensure enough poison for later bosses because he didn't have burst yet.

Yeah, envenom only really seems great with a shiv deck. He actively didn't want to play strikes (since poison skills were so great) so it was kind of a waste.

@@justinkellenberger7462 No. It was a terrible choice at the time. He already had enough poison to carry through everything except act 3 bosses. Envenom boosts attacks you wish to play with a little poison. He had NO attack cards he wanted to play. He already had enough damage scaling. It was objectively the WORST pick at the time AND the worst action in the entire run. Because of envenom, he lost one rare pick, one upgrade, more than half an energy per combat, and gained a curse.

Nah the flask was 4 extra due to the Skull. Plus, it's usable more than once, so it's undeniably a better call against a boss.

A long (relatively) time ago in a good spate of Isaac episodes Mr GREENMAN was very omnipresent and NL could see it resulting in frustration and jumpscares. It was a faulty video card

Silent can't end fights quickly and on Ascension everything outscales your block. Ironchad can burst and has sustain for whatever chip he takes while playing Bash.
