I know... The irony. It seems as though, as of 1992, Dave had no plans of going anywhere. It's fun that this footage is out there to refer back to.

Kerry and Jeff both said that they were inspired and influenced by the speed and aggression of punk. Since they are the GODS of thrash metal, I'll just take their word for it.

Well it obviously did on Slayer, considering that one of Dave Lombardo's influences for drumming was the drummer for D.R.I.

Yes s new album but it came out in '94 and ironically it featured Paul on drums even though Dave made mention of the next album.

aside from the fact that the term THRASH initially was used for punk bands playing faster music (AGNOSTIC FRONT, early BEASTIE BOYS, TEEN IDLES---> later MINOR THREAT)it's no doubt that both thrash and death metal have their roots in the crossover between punk/hardcore and metal. Even black metal has its' roots in crustpunk. Who denied this is only an ignorant. Crossover is one of the best things happened to music.

I know what you mean. Apart from Pantera, they're all still around though, and hopefully for a long time.

I love slayer and metal all around. How ever in the interview the very beginning, the guy said "This has been going on for 2 years, from 1991-1992"...I'm not the best in math, but obviously neither is he, because i only count a 1 year diffrence, or am i wrong? 1991-1992=1 right :)

You do know that saying Heavy Metal is just another way of saying Metal. There is no difference. I know Thrash is Metal+punk. But saying Maiden isn't metal is very n00bish. Sabbath comes almost 15 years before Maiden and Priest. Sabbath are the forefathers. Maiden and Priest are Metal.
