That year a kid (a friend of mines older brother) several grades above me saw me listening to Beastie Boys and AC/DC cassettes.... he said "here, listen to some real music" and gave me a dubbed tape. It had Metallicas Kill em All on one side and Master of Puppets on the other. That same year I watched Headbangers Ball for the first time and saw Over Kills Hello From the Gutter video.... those 2 things shaped the music I listen to til this day.

I remember this interview and the TV show it was on. It was either The Power Hour or Raw Power at the time. And Nikki Groocock was the presenter/ interviewer. I was 13 at the time and was only getting into Iron Maiden who were the first metal band I listened to. I later got into Slayer. Yep, great times and great music.

Damn, it's pretty wild to hear stories of when they first got together. Jeff said he didn't even know how to play guitar really and that Kerry mostly taught him.
Death released Scream Bloody Gore after Slayer released Reign in Blood. And if you want go that route of who was most extreme, then Possessed certainly were more extreme than Death and Slayer. At the end of the day Slayer were the fastest and most agressive Thrash/Metal band of the 80's. Possessed, Kreator, Death, Exodus, Sepultura and Dark Angel were also extreme, but in different ways.
