Definitely a contender for best song they've released to date. So varied, so heavy, still gorgeous and sexy as hell. And so cohesive! Still can't believe it. The hype train has exploded out the station. Worship.

Ive always told fellow musicians that you cant be afraid to mix genres, feels, grooves, etc and Sleep Token just put on a master class on making multiple genres work within one song

My favorite thing about all these reactions to this song is so many people want it to go heavy at the end but they go sexy and everyone just vibes with it.

Sleep Token is next level. They take music genres and expectations, and throw them out the window in favor of creating something beautiful, perfectly written, and outside the box. Like what genre is this? Metalcore, djent, thall. But also FUNK? Like. 2023 is Sleep Token year, no other band is gonna beat this album.

Some interesting influences in this one. Deftones in the chorus 100%, MAJOR Gunship vibes with the 80s style solo and synth work, Messhugah and Vildhjarta in the breakdowns, 90s r&b in the funk down. I immediately thought of Genuine-Pony when I heard it 😂

It's like they made a song that we didn't know we wanted or needed. It's magic.

This song showcases Vessel's vocal skills so well! And his screams! Yes! The last 2 minutes - damn! Was at a ritual in September and hoping they come back to the states soon. Worship! (schluk)

I thought that Periphery would easily take my album of the year... Holy hell... Sleep Token subverted I think ALL of our expectations in the best way possible.

THE CHORUS, the jazz-fusion guitar solo right before it, and the funk/prog ending. It's a nuts track. So good.

I think these songs are what folks were expecting from "This Place Will Become Your Tomb", which is a record I absolutely love, but THIS feels like a proper follow-up to Sundowning.

this was my first Sleep Token experience and i have to say that i was thoroughly left in a sea of shock and awe, the first half was like something that you could easily, EASILY hear as an epic end track to a game, then that surprise change up left me saying to myself "What the FUNK!?!?" lol

So I've been a ST fan for a couple years now, and after MUCH digging it seems like Vessel is the principal songwriter of this band. I know they have touring guitarists, but from what I can tell Vessel and the drummer do all the writing. I'm not gonna say what Vessel's real name is, but he's got older (pre ST) stuff online, and he seems to be a very accomplished guitarist/songwriter/keys player. I'm just wondering how much of these newer songs are still written/played by him, or if the touring musicians are actually contributing to the creation of this stuff now as well. Great stuff, Sleep Token! Keep it up.

The whole record is something else, best of 2023 in my opinion, Granite has some great moments, Vore is my favorite song of the album, Aqua Regia is so jazzy, Rain is also great, DYWTYLM is simply amazing and catchy, Are You Really Okay? hits so hard man... Take Me Back to Eden, Ascensionism, The Apparition, Euclid... honestly there is no weak link in this one, it's been a while since I loved a whole album that much, I do a full listen at least once a day lmao

this was the first song of Sleep Token's that I heard all the way thru, and I wasnt sure I was a fan but the change-up at the end caught me so off guard in SUCH A GOOD WAY. now listening again I definitely find myself liking this song a lot more. like I see this song growing to be one of my all-time-faves. also the build-up to the funk/folk ending was so much more intense on the relisten (I say folk end bc it low-key reminded me of Hozier a bit)
