Sleep Token fans are awesome, vast majority dont hate. Once you started listing all the genres you listen to i was sure you would like Sleep Token. They intertwine many genres sometimes into 1 song or just have many varying songs of different "genres". They only believe geres are musical boundaries that limit peoples minds to music. Need to check out Rain or The Summoning, the later song being the one that boosted their popularity last year. Thanks for the reaction.

Man, your reaction was great. I completely agree with what you were saying about the ending when I first heard the song. I was already a fan of Sleep Token before its release, and I really liked all of their heavier tracks, but I was taken aback by this ending at first. However, in the context of the story of the trilogy of albums (and the placement of this track), it makes sense and I've come to really enjoy the sudden shift. You're in this dream-state...it has built up to this beautiful, mesmerizing crescendo, then it rips you right out of that dream and throws you to the ground. It's a wake-up call...a violent push to get the narrator out of this cycle--to reject the thing that is keeping them from moving forward in their life

Different styles for chorus is a way to show author's perspective on the lyrics he is singing. The last and heaviest one shows that he loses hope and desperately begging for the "eden" deep inside knowing its not gonna happen

Watching you just get absorbed by the song was amazing. The end of this song is a reference to jt self "reset my pacient violence" the end of the song he has run out of patience. I will aslo say, many sleep token songs took me multiple listens to really enjoy and understand. Some people will tell you there is a correct or best way to listen to their music. All i will say is that all yheir aongs are connected in an overall linear story. Starting from their 2 EPs and continuing onto the 3 studio albums. My personal favourite songs are: "this night does not belong to god" "Atlantic" "fall for me" "ascensionisum"

I really enjoyed your reaction and attention to detail, does the song justice! Here is some background information about the band: Sleep Token is an anonymous, masked band which has a lore. The band doesn't do any interviews really and therefore don't actually explain much about their individual background, however one thing they have explained was their origin story. It is said that the main vocalist (Vessel) has been visited in his dream by an ancient deity, which he refers to as "Sleep". This deity has promised him glory and prosperity in return for his devotion and loyalty. Apparently, Sleep has send him on a mission to lure as many people into its cult as possible. In order to do that Vessel has created the band and all members are just as devoted to the deity as he is. Which is why they all function as "vessels" for this ancient deity. Lyric-wise it is very smart because they basically (according to MOST interpretations) write songs about love and relationships, which can also be interpreted as Vessel simply worshipping Sleep... It is all not an actual cult or anything like that, so dont worry. It is just a marketing thing, but the members take it VERY seriously. Their music is said to be a token to this deity...thats why they are called Sleep Token. The vocalist is technically called Vessel I, the drummer is Vessel II, the bassist is Vessel III and the guitarist is Vessel IV, however aside from Vessel I all the other instrumentalists are just referred to by their numbers, so II, III and IV. the drummer II has an AMAZING hour-long play through/interview of some of their biggest songs uploaded on the Drumeo channel, as well as 2 or 3 other uploads on the sleep token channel if you're interested in that. He is truly phenomenal and fascinating to watch! The bassist (III) and guitarist (IV) are touring/performing members only and the singer/frontman Vessel is the creative head behind the music (aside from the drums obviously, done by II) which means, Vessel not only sings and writes the lyrics, he composes, arranges, produces (alongside their producer) and writes the songs all by himself while playing the keys, guitar and the bass on the albums. INSANELY talented dude! Sonically the band is known for very atmospheric builds, huge epic choruses, lots of RnB/Pop influence, jazz, funk, prog metal, alternative, acoustic stuff too they kinda do it all and Vessel has the talent to somehow make these different genres blend well while maintaining a unique sound as a band...idk he is truly gifted. they do have some heavy songs or at least heavy parts within some songs, but they aren't your typical metal band for sure the heavier stuff would be something like Gods, Vore, The Summoning, Hypnosis, Ascensionism (partially), The Offering (partially), Higher (partially), maybe Chokehold and High Water? they have some GREAT RnB and pop stuff that could easily top the charts as well like Granite, Sugar, Aqua Regia, Rain, The Apparition, Atlantic, The Love You Want, Fall For Me, Descending, Like That they got Ballads as well and their first two EPs were very dark, spooky, artsy and atmospheric AF

The lyrics made the change in the song + end of the song. The lyrics are well written most of the songs have conections to each other.

This song live is on another level experience. I was privileged enough to see them this last tour in Phoenix 😭 I don't dislike a single song of theirs, I do suggest after listening to songs watch them live. The last song on this album is basically the end of a trilogy and has many call backs to even their first songs so we typically say save it til you hear the rest. If you keep reacting us worshipers will come to watch. We love seeing someones experience their music for the first time.

The amazing thing about this song, and this is the measurement of greatness, when a band can create an eight minute long song that feels like 3 minutes, because you get so lost in it. You've stepped into a trifecta here, Sleep Token is amazing and beautiful, and then you have Lorna Shore, and I mention them because Will Ramos has cited Sleep Token as his favorite band and goes all fangirl mode, which is awesome, because he's done several covers that are absolutely incredible. And checking out Lorna Shore, To The Hellfire is a rite of passage for any reaction channel, it's kind of a requirement, and The Pain Remains Trilogy official video with lyrics is an experience unlike anything I've ever known, it's an absolute masterpiece.

The change at the end was hinted at with the lyrics ‘I’m about to bite back in anger’. They switch styles to create emotion. I can see it as being jarring, and to be honest, I can’t remember how I felt about it on the first listen. I’m used to the changes through their music and there are songs that remain steady throughout too. They keep it exciting, as you’ve no idea what you will get.

I think the ending is just showing rage .. a lot of their songs are more like a play out of changes in emotion throughout the song even the parts with no lyrics hold emotional weight. I'm obsessed with them. hope to see you go on a sleep token journey!

Just my take on the end. If you take the lyrics in(first listen so I get you’re not fully taking in the lyrics), at first he’s asking to take him back to Eden when things were perfect and great. Then at the end he’s angry to take him back. Such a great band both lyrically and musically

Nice reaction. I understand your thought at the end but it is so purposeful. ST changes the vibe intentionally from an emotional perspective. Once you listen to more you may understand. But this band is truly amazing.
