I always love seeing the reactions of people to the end of this movie,never get's old.😂

This movie has some quality gore for its budget. Fun Fact about the ending: the 13 year old actress, who played the girl, obviously couldn't do nudity for the film, even with a prosthetic down there. And of course, her mother wouldn't have allowed it anyway. So they instead hired a older local college male and had him wear a mask of Angela's face and nothing else. That mask looks pretty incredibly realistic to me, and also explains why her face holds still the entire time. Truly terrifying.

The reason she killed the kids is because if you rewatch the scene where she gets thrown in the water, the kids are throwing sand on her. Loved this reaction!! Highly recommend Maniac (1980) which is more of a serious scary one. Ice cream man (1995) for a funny one.

As a horror fan, your combined confusion at Aunt Martha is everything! She's an icon 😅

I saw this in the theater when it came out. Everyone was laughing at the horrible acting, but were genuinely shocked at the end. The ending made the movie.

Hi, Emma! Glad to see the gang's all here! This movie is one where, if you like it or if you hate it, you just can't forget that ending. So out of nowhere and a "Whaaaaaaaaaat?" type of ending.

I got meet Felica Rose at our local Con and she has a career because of this film and her willingness to embrace it. She said as much. Such a fun loving credit to the genre.

The facial expressions at the twist is definite meme/screen shot worthy. This year is the 40th anniversary of the movie and barring the early 80s fashion trends, is still a relevant movie (talks of gender, toxic masculinity, toxic femininity, sexual orientation, childhood trauma, etc). Horror movies up to the 80s were sociological portraits of their time with horror/jump scares added in.

Fun fact: the ending scene uses an unknown actor wearing an Angela mask. He has never revealed himself because he is still “traumatized” by it (I believe traumatized was his choice of words)

This reaction was so funny. I first saw this movie as a kid in the 80’s and I was to freaked out and confused by it I had to watch it again as an adult. 😂

The 2nd one is so damn iconic in its own way. It’s my favorite of the franchise & the “camp” is turned WAY TF up lol. It’s a really good time & I can’t wait to see that reaction!!

Love your reactions, they are genuine. Two things of note: First, the one person who really deserved to die but lives is the perverted head cook. Second, the camp is full of dead kids, Angela has the decapitated head in her lap and is brandishing the weapon that did it, but the one thing that the counselor is really shaken about is that Angela is a boy.

I finally saw this movie for the first time tonight, the ending was definitely a surprise. I will say, having seen what steam/boiling water does (I worked very briefly as an EMT years ago), those burns on the sicko chef looked pretty damn real! Props to the effects crew for that one. Also, I learned that his replacement in the kitchen was played by the father of James Earl Jones. Anyway, loved your reaction video, I had many similar reactions myself when I watched this earlier. For the early 80's this was quite a shocker, I really enjoyed it. Have you seen "An American Werewolf in London" yet? It's another classic I think you would enjoy (don't bother with the sequel "in Paris", it's rancid).

Haha cops mustache was real in beginning of the film and he left to do another movie and they needed him back for the end scenes and didn't have time to grow it back so that was there solution

Tasha Tipton Assemble! It was nice to see you went from the Terrific Three to a Fabulous Four for this film. I was just as shocked at the ending when I watched this film a few years back. The music and the crazy look on Angela's face at the end added to the eye opening experience.

Growing up as a teenaged male in the 1970s & 1980s, it sucked wearing Terry cloth shirts, Marc Spitz shorts, & the girls were wearing Dallas Cowboy tops, Farrah Fawcett haircuts, & Vallerie Bertinelli shorts.

Woah I remember we rented this tape when I was probably in middle school from the little VHS rental store on Lanai' Island (Hawaii). The freeze-frame at the end freaked me out! Great choice Tasha!

And as an afterthought: I'll add as disturbing as the ending is that is something very rare: a genuinely scary woman in a horror flim. There is always a stereotype that women are unfortunately always supposed to be "cute" , "sweet" or degraded as eye candy. "Angela" is naked in the finale but still terrifying. It kinda flips the bird (no pun intended) and gives it a whole new spin. Though she is a boy the actor was not and she nailed it.

I loved how your shocked/horrified reactions all turned to laughter. It went from "OMG, WTF WAS THAT??" to "BAHAHA, WTF WAS THAT??" 😄

I know it's not obvious when you only watch this once. Yeah Horror fans have watched this MULTIPLE times! lol But Ricky is the cousin and did not know about who "Angela" really was. Ricky's mom hid it from everybody. Felissa Rose who played Angela is one of the nicest people to fans at conventions and screenings of the movie.

My thoughts on this video: 1. Congrats Emma! Was nice seeing all 4 of you in one video this would be fun for an annual or "special" (highly requested/warned about) movie. 2. This was close to Friday the 13th what if Jason was the killer the whole time 🤔 we know he hates camps 3. Now you gotta check out parts 2 and 3 of sleep away camp! 4. Maybe this was a camp for troubled kids (Bullies R Us camp) 5. I agree there is often alot of boobs and not much for women viewers (I know alot of women don't wanna see thier man packages anyways randomly but at least they put something for those who do) what IS missing is women who use their wits, not their bodies or sex appeal to cause mayham especially in horror films (where women are often shown as clueless or naked and that's about it.) 6. I highly recommend "orphan" and it's sequel for one of the best women killers of our generation. 6. I saw that big 😏 on the far left she knew what was coming 😂 7. I know one friends sister who wishes they would bring back the shorts on men (thank God I missed that phase growing up I would not be comfortable in those)

I forgot what all I’ve recommended and not recommended thus far so I’ll just say I highly recommend Barbarian, Smile, Violent Night (It’s a Christmas comedy/horror or whatnot but still worth watching even past that season) and The Menu too.

I love, love your reactions, but I've wondered if you guys ever reacted to older films around the 50's-60s? The films that I'm talking about are Wait Until Dark (1967), The Nanny (1965), and Whatever Happened to Baby Jane (1962). They are more like suspense thrillers and will have you on the edge of your seat. If you watch Wait Until Dark, that's a movie that should be watched with the lights off.

I'm glad you watched this movie. It is a very weird movie, but part two and three are better in that they are more of a traditional horror comedy and the star of the films is Bruce Springsteen's sister. This reaction taught me, dont make Elizabeth mad. She tends to like sadistic kills in these movies. I loved when both Emma and Tasha were holding their mouths like they were going to be sick. Another entertsining reaction, and it was great to see Emma back and congrats on getting married. Do watch the other two movies in this series. You'll laugh at them. If you like cheesy horror with creative kills, watch Return to Slaughter High.

sleepaway camp is a reverse slasher movie by tradition standards. All the men are sexualised with tight small pants and all the girls are horrible. *Sleepaway camp 2 unhappy campers is really good*
