In this episode we have the amazing pleasure of meeting Art Castillo and his amazing Honda Prelude. WOW, that is all I could say after we were done lol This car is so subtle, yet so many details! Hence the 30 minute video lol I absolutely love the energy and passion that Art has towards his Prelude. No detail was left out. Ngl, only prelude people like preludes. Every single time i go to a car show, no one bats an eye at a 4th or 5th gen but my brother and I will freak out and look over every inch of the car (lol). My last car show, there were over 300 cars registered and there was only 1 prelude (5th gen).

Your prelude looks very nice! As a owner of honda prelude I can say that prelude is very good and reliable car. I used it more than 10 year, and each time of driving I enjoy by it's using.

I test drove a 98 Prelude when new, ended up buying an Integra. Always regretted never owning a Prelude, nice build, thanks for sharing. What would be very cool is to have an S2000 drivetrain in a Prelude. Always thought that car would be an excellent rear drive monster.

Wow, that's really nice, perfect. Not many of these left in the UK, harsh winters with salt covered roads has destroyed most of them. You guys are so blessed living in a hot dry climate.

I just bought a 2001 type s from the original owner with 125k on it. This car has given me all the inspiration I needed to go after my dream prelude. I always wanted one back in the day in high school and at 33 I've finally made it a reality. Thanks Art for the influence.

She's na, should be hittin the dyno in march hoping to hit 240 to the tires maybe more idk. euro r trans 12.1 pistons stage 2 sk2 cams ported head balance shaft delete ported intake 500cc injectors ram header full mugen twin loop exhaust. Hopefully reliable and not pushed to the max. This is a pasion build but I still wanna have some fun.

@@doozy.5494 yeah I’ve heard the same. I can only imagine the cost of it smh. I sincerely hope if Honda goes back to its roots with its cars such as the prelude, or even RSX/Integra (Acura). That they offer them in RWD. So many car companies now offer different drive trains with their cars, but Honda barely even offers it with their SUV’s in general. They’ve become family oriented and have kinda distanced themselves from what they once were but We’ll see.

@@doozy.5494 Its not a case of if its expensive or not, its just that there would be a lot of cutting and re adjusting stuff to fit a rwd or awd conversion kit on a prelude. I own one personally and have even looked underneath to see if it would work, and its a lot of difficulty.

Prelude was always the one Honda. Still to this day , I seen the future and never gave up hopes on it, what do you know Honda looking into brining the prelude back to life !!!

I had a 2000’ Honda Prelude Base. This lady wreaked the front end but I was able to get the body shop to replace the front end and side skirts with Mugen parts. The insurance company approved it too! Loved that car!

Nice review. I had a 97 base 5 speed and I’m trying to remember what I was thinking when I sold it. I’m looking to replace it and restore and drive it for fun. I’m convinced this is going to be the next hot collectible honda because of driveabilty and scarcity.

my 5th gen lude is fully built. I still need to get a wrap and wheels. retained power steering and ac. g30-770. dynos 680whp hondata, t2w4 lsd. i spin tires thru 3rd. wideband, mac 4 port, full 3" dual exhaust. love my car....

Great video mate!! With the ‘boost by gears’ part , with each gear change the ratios get taller until 4th gear and it’s a 1:1 ratio so it feels like it makes heaps more power it’s actually the only gear they dyno in so when he says it makes 430hp that only in 4th giving the feeling of higher boost but it’s an incredible car I can’t wait until you mod yours

Wanted a Prelude since I was a kid and they changed the body style in 97. Just love the uniqueness of the look, and Im a Honda loyalist anyway. Finally decided to buy one this year found a great condition 97 5 speed. Such a forgotten gem in the Honda lineup.

@@AutomotiveAnatomy Just restore it honestly. The interior was in just incresibly good shape for its age and miles 195k. I had the driver seat re-upholstered...the car is actually CDM so it has leather and also heated seats which is rare. All original interior pieces are present and in good shape, I got new prelude mats made. I did put all new pipes on there AEM CAI, megan racing headers and apexi ws2 exhaust but im not boosting it I want the engine to last forever. Im looking for a new steering wheel preferrably OEM and i am replacing the much of the suspension it is lowered a little bit but pretty much everything needs replaced. With a few personal touches I want it to mostly be original.

My mother has been driving them ever since I was a kid. She's had several new ones. Very fun to drive cars. Like a big go-kart. I had an integra in highschool. It was close, but not quite the same connected to the road feel.

@@robsenb16 ya there's not many of them here in the states either. and when you do see them. 9 times out of 10 they've been "riced out" by teens and Mexicans. those ridiculous fart cans (mufflers) is usually the first thing they do. when i got mine. the very next day i went to the muffler shop and had a magnaflow muffler put on it. ( similar to the old turbo style we used to use on muscle cars)i would rather cut the exhaust off then have one of those other mufflers on my car!
