Glad you did another sleepin with Pete video. I have collected a few game merch but my thing I collect is novels. Books, mostly fantsy and sci-fi and I branch out with horror, dystopia, and military fiction. But on the topic of games. I love finding and collecting game novels such as mortal kombat, fable, and mass effect. Some novels which delve into more rich detail about that video game's lore, characters and envimorment.

I have gotten much more into video game memorabilia. I really love store displays. Nintendo store displays are very nostalgic for me. I've been able to get a few. I also really like employee items as well.

I was listening to this while playing Bloodborne. It certainly did soothe the frustration and helped me get through a tough area. I agree with what you said in this video. I went from trying to collect every RPG ever made to just buying the ones I interested in playing. As well as focusing on various shrines such as my Falcom collection and recently my Dragon Quest shelf which is starting to look pretty damn nice haha.

Great videos Pete. Really enjoying this series so far. Please do a couple of more soon when you have time. Not sure about anyone else but it takes me sometimes about 1-2 hours before I fall asleep. So if you can bank about 3- 4 more episodes it would be perfect for a playlist while I sleep. Thanks again and keep up the great work. Really appreciate it.

Yes! My brain was starting to get used to the first video to the point I wasn't even getting sleepy cause I would focus on remembering every single word you said, but bam new vid and I fell asleep in like 3 minutes if I recall correctly. Keep up the great channel Pete, you're doing amazing things!

Tbh its always good to have something you're very compassate about, especially with video games. To me, comic books are something I love to collect. Its been something I've carried since I was 14 and now, I've grown to love them. Same thing with gaming, I used to love games. Pokemon was a game series that is my fav to this day and is something i've cherished the most.

I really enjoy all Pete's videos and his voice is really great for this sort of thing. I think Pete is just really busy in other things right now maybe school or something. He's also in my opinion just burned out again in video games. Hope he'll be back soon.

Infinitely better asmr than your first ep. Seriously, that's a huge improvement. Is that some sort of noise-gate limiter or are you manipulating your voice manually? Either way, well done. Sidenote I agree with your memorabilia opinion.

I found my old Tails plush figure from 1994. It's in perfect condition but I would never sell it. The sentimental value means more to me than money. It sits next to my 20th anniversary Sonic classic figure that's sealed in the box

Another great video as usual Pete, but I'm quite surprised with what you did with your God of War standee. If I were you, I would have put a classified ad on something like craigslist or kijiji for local pickup. I think this would beat having to package and ship a big standee like that.

Hey Pete - I'd be interested for a future episode to hear your thoughts on how being a 'collector' in the real-world influences your taste in games and vice-versa? So, for example, I'm sure your love of RPGs is predominantly about discovery and item collection. So how do those impulses reflect in the way you play games? Then does playing certain games fuel your need to collect in reality? Why do you think that sense of collecting is so appealing in general? Great videos btw, cheers mate!

I have a few vg merch myself. A lot of Amiibos, books, plushes, other toys and music. Yeah, I would buy a collectors edition of certain games also. :P I have Halo 3 legendary edition.

How does someone find out about every rare memorabilia for example, sonic the hedgehog? Like if it is so rare, and barely comes up on ebay, how do you know about it in the first place? Is there like a website to see all merchandise and the rarity of specific items?

paulh909 When I was in my prime of collecting Sonic stuff I would do multiple searches on eBay per day, including international eBay sites so I covered all bases, though I only checked those a couple times a week. After awhile you know what is rare just by the virtue of never having seen it before for years. And yes, there are communities online that talk about stuff like this, check the Sonic Stadium forums.

Personally I don't like having lots of different merch for thevsame character. I generally tend to go out of my way to look for a figure/plushy whatever and see which one I like the most. Then I go for that. I like this method cos then I have a collection of a bunch of different characters. I do have a few exceptions though and I don't find anything wrong with your method, we just all have our own ways of collecting stuff :)
