Sleeping Alone in a Northumberland Bothy

In this video I was forced to avoid a summit camp in the Lake District due to high winds. So I headed to a remote bothy in Northumberland armed with good food, beer and a rucksack full of candles! join me for a cosy night followed by a walk around a Scottish castle the following day! Kerry

Loved the way you knocked on the bothy door, so polite and lady like, I would have stuck a size 11 boot through the door shouting "Room for a small one" but good to see you had it all to yourself. That log must have took some sawing mind but to be fair you had it looking real cosy. Well done on leaving it spotless as well and lovely to see the heather still out on the Moors too. Nice little detour at the end and yes, it was a pretty cool place, cheers Alan

Hahaha talk about making an entrance Alan. Well, I knock because you never know what your gping to walk in on lol! It was so cosy that night, fire and the candles were mesmerising! Always try to tidy up the best I can for the next person and yeah that wood was hard work lol! Thanks for watching as always 😊

Another great video, Kerry. I have finally got some time of work as permitted by Mrs Boss. So I am planning a three day walk and camp with Tracy, one of the other security officers and we are taking our working dogs with us as they both enjoy camping. @@nightsinthewild im not surprised, its a stunning place Kerry, ive always said, if scotland had predictable weather systems, it would be a top world destination, even more than it is already, except for the midges lol, them little suckers are brutal. Im an insect magnet, the mosquitoes love me, ive no doubt the midges would too! And then there are thr wasps, im a big girls blouse when it comes to wasps lol, ever seen a grown man squeal lol 😂

Ah thanks for watching! Kyloe has a strong prescription from the vet for ticks because he's always out and bouncing around areas where they thrive! Never had to take one off him since he started on that medication. Thanks again 😊

Hi Caley. Glad you enjoyed the vid 🙂 I used a sawyer mini squeeze water filter on this trip but I would recommend katadyn filters for speed

Another really good video. Was watching this with my 19yo daughter. Hopefully finding some inspiration for her to do similar. She thinks you're brave for going into a bothy alone overnight. It took a long time for me to work up the courage to do a bothy, mainly due to my job, I know whats out there! This was me challenging myself tbh! Mind you I woukd have bailed if it was occupied, slept with one eye open etc 🤣 Your missing ok on the bothies! DM me if you want to know location of this one (if you dont already lol). @@nightsinthewild only downside of a bothy for me is that one of the lads I camp with is a loud snorer. At least in tents I can give a bit distance between tents 😂
