Had me guessing from the start. Loved it. Quite the film noir without putting too much of a modern spin on it. And Crowe and Flanagan together again.... if in a way. Man.... I want to forget I saw this film so I can watch and enjoy it again right now.

@@javiernunez1595Crowe's characters wife (or girlfriend) was the barmaid who had the affair with the professor who's murdered. I guess they split (Crowe leaves her) following everything, but prob before his DUI accident. She dies of cancer before Crowe's memory comes back...but it's only when Crowe goes looking for her (not knowing who she was to him in the past) that he finds out about her death. I think the overall lesson of the film is: can we live with our memories, our mistakes and regrets along with all the happiness good memories bring?

So when I saw this trailer title, Sleeping Dogs on Google. I originally thought of the video game, 5 seconds in. I realized this was not at all what I expected. Halfway through watching, I did end up being intrigued so I'm curious as to how this movie will play out.

To anyone who watched the movie, something doesn’t make sense, so if it was Russell Crowe’s character who killed the professor as we learned, why did Westlake and the caretaker try to kill him? Doesn’t make sense. As if it was to protect the research, the research was already published. Would like to hear what you guys think.
