I found Donna's channel shortly after making my 1st quilt in 2018. I was so frustrated with the pattern, I had used, that I sought out help from YT, where I found Donna's videos. I just want to thank the entire Jordan family for their hard work in putting these videos out to all of us. These last few years have been a extreme challenge for most of the world. Most of us have lost many so very close to us, due to Covid, and I find Donna's videos calming & comforting on weary days. Thank You, Jordan Crew.

This is a beautiful quilt! I love using colors other than black or white for the background, and I do that whenever possible. The colors used in this quilt are just beautiful! Thank you, Donna. You're a great teacher!

I really like the background colour you have used in this quilt. It isn't as stark as white would have been and gives the finished quilt a soft, cosy and dreamy feel to it. Thank you.

Donna, you are amazing! I bought fabric at Christmas time to make my Granddaughter a 48 log cabin square Christmas quilt and the fabric was beautiful and happy to say I have put it all together and taken it to be quilted, using a snow flake design. Every time I watch your totorials I am ready to start sewing. Your fabric selections are awesome. Char Newland

Nice quilt. But how about all those trimmings? I thought perhaps it is an idea to sew them together to make a very scrappy block. I keep fabric from every project that I've done, and all these are sewn together to make what I call a 'memory' quilt. It is a bit surprising how much I remember about what I have made through the years.
@elenibatas6569

That sounds awesome 🤩
@HuberHans
@HuberHans Жыл бұрын
Normally, I would agree with you, but in this case the trimmings are too slim for a scrappy block. If I saw/calculated it correctly, the max width (when cutting the block only from 1 side, not really "squaring up") is 1 inch unfinished (1/2 inch finished) ... would take 18 of them for 1 block. For the use in a memory quilt it might be doable.

I have made a similar quilt for a quilt of valor. I decided to leave my blocks rectangular instead of wasting any fabric and it turned out fine. I actually like the look just as well, if not better, as the square blocks quilt. Thank you Donna for making me a better quilter over the past several years. I enjoy your tutorials so much.

I made one of these quilts a few years ago, for a coworker who makes beautiful, Food Network-worthy cakes. I gathered many cake-related fat quarters for her quilt, paired with white strips for frosting. For my retirement party, she made me a cake that looked just like a sewing machine, not flat but 3-D.
