Slicktrick: formerly was a fan till this year. One of my sons shot a buck at 15 yards, placed the arrow near perfectly. blood trail great for 200 yds then dried up. Obvious lung blood on the trail and blown clots. Couldn't believe the deer was still kicking. Left the area alone for 2 weeks, and he started showing up in the same food plot. 2 weeks and a few days later he shot him again. Dead in the field this time, but was obviously severely diminished. Skinned the buck, and the second shot was maybe an inch and a 1/2 from the first. In the entry rib were 2 of the blades from the fist slick trick, and the other 2 were laying the chest cavity. this was with one of the "pro" stainless models. Couldn't believe that head dropped the blades on a rib, out of a kids bow at 40 lbs and 24" draw.

Yeah that’s very interesting. So sorry that happened. Their interlocking blades are the most secure type I’ve ever seen. But I have learned that with such high speeds and angles and anatomies and forces/dynamics-all kinds of strange, exceptional things can happen on shots. I would say that is a rare, unique occurrence-unfortunate as it is. I’ve now tested every Slick Trick head this year and I was impressed by how their quality control has gone up, compared to some years.

Every time one of these super vented heads makes it to the cinder block test, I can't help but get a little nervous for you, John. It is very satisfying to watch some of them completely fragment. But I hope you're never caught in the crossfire. Another stellar video, my friend. Thank you
@LuskArcheryAdventures5 ай бұрын
Right?! I feel the same. At least you’re in Texas. I can do it outside so I can get a little farther back, and it is slightly downhill. But some of the arrows in this batch bounced back pretty close to me.
@PersonalBestOutdoors5 ай бұрын
@LuskArcheryAdventures I'm sure. Fortunately there's not enough mass from a fragmented arrow head chunk to seriously injure you. But nobody wants a piece of arrow embedded into their arm or face. I'm sure you've taken adequate precautions to ensure your own safety. Just know it's a cheek clencher for some of us in the other side of the camera.

Nice review!! I have been using slicktick and vipertrick for a long time now on deer, gets the job done. Now that I'v been shooting Trad bows I use cheap Chinese oz cut 2 blade and a montec m3 look a like 3 blade with good results on deer. These broad heads are all very durable and have treated me well over the years. You don't need an expensive broadhead to get the job done.

@LuskArcheryAdventures I don't know about that (like literally I have never heard of that broadhead and am not coming at it from the angle if they copied day six) I'm just saying it looks like a day six. And the day six design seems like a very good penetrating broadhead, and the designer seems smart, so this slick trick revival would probably do really well. Good broadhead by slick trick.

@@jonathanhoward1497 if you meant to be asking me about the Shwacker heads, I have not taken anything yet. I bought them after John reviewed them last season and I happen to find them at Walmart. Years ago I hunted with a compound bow & I Of you who are shot a head that was quite similar built by Game Tracker, but it was only an inch and eight diameter.
