After the steel and the concrete (not a fair target for any broad head) It seems their hardening is off, not because the head was damaged by the concrete but by the type of damage. Unless the steel sheet was hardened the edge should have less damaged although it would need to be sharpened. My issue is that it is not a cut on contact head but a punch pointed head. Cut on contact have proven to be the most effective on deer sized critters. Good video and a beautiful trophy room.

John.i have to say. Your the best broadhead tester that i have ever came across. That being said.i have a request! Nobody has ever said anything about those arrows your shooting. I've never seen one break. Could you do a video on the bishop series arrows you're shooting?? I would love to see a test if you will on them and where to get them, the fletching, inserrts,ect... Thank you for all you do. Jason from arkansas.

Hey John, thanks for the reviews! Do you plan on testing the G5 T2? It’s their newest, looks pretty basic as far as 2 blade mechanicals, but G5 is a solid brand, may be cool to check out! Gods blessings John!

To break the burr off just run the backside on the grit you created the burr with. To much over thinking of breaking a burr

John, asking your professional engineering opinion. I shoot 55#, 30” draw, 4mm arrows. Are those specs “strong enough” for mechanical heads? If so, which do you recommend? Sevr, shwacker, GR, ??

G5 blades have always been one and done.... i remember the original T3 that people loved but it just wasn't sturdy enough. G5 has the best marketing in the bizz

I wasn’t a huge fan of the cinder block test initially, as I just didn’t see it as a relevant test for hunting, but I’ve begun to appreciate it for what it is. It’s just the ultimate durability test, and it’s really cool when a broad head does well on all other metrics, and still passes the cinder block test.

Great video. This has definitely become my #1 for this year. I'm curious, however, what you make of such deep penetration through the gel but relatively poor penetration through the cardboard compared to other broadheads you've tested in 2023 and 2024? Thanks for sharing these reviews.

I think the ring was meant to brake off after cutting a circle on the hide and skin. Not allowing wound to close. Afterward, it would act like a regular fixed head.

I think your a little harsh on the fact that the single use retention arms are in fact single use on the steel plate round
@pichy66594 күн бұрын
I think you confused what John referred to as "deployment arms", which are an extension of the blade itself and should not break off. On the other hand, the blade retention system (John refers to it as the "locking mechanism"), is single use and designed to break with every deployment of the blades. So John is rightly deducting five points for what appears to be a failure of the blades themselves, which would not be reusable after they broke in that way.

I watch every single video you make. I have to say, i thinki like this video the best. You explained it very well. Allot of folks just don't understand the concept. You explain it so well. Thanks allot i really enjoyed this very much. Keep up the good work sir.

I have been waiting to see this test. Can't wait to see the HXP test. For mechanicals I'd have to say these and the sevr's are the top two most durable heads on the market.

Great review again John!! They definitely held up and did very well for a mechanical. Impressive!
@jonathanbarksdale85956 күн бұрын
Just too many in the market now. You have to be special at this point to move past exodus, grim reapers, deadmeats, iron will etc.. like bows we have reached a platea. But glad people keep trying to innovate.

I see they lock closed but do they actually lock open and stay in that position or do they swing back and forth when open?
@rek_broadheads6 күн бұрын
They have the ability to pivot back out of the fully deployed state, this allows the head to not be considered “barbed”

I love the idea of these. Might have to pick them up wnd give em a try. Ive killed several deer with swhackers and never had a problem. This is made similar, but 3 blades and a fixed head. I love the rear deploying.

If you were to be hunting whitetail in Illinois out of a deer stand which broad-head would you choose? I’ve shot Swacker mostly but I’m not happy with the penetration. I’ve never shot a single bevel 1 piece and I’m wondering if I’m missing out.

Great review John. As a Michigan archer I love trying home grown products. I’ve been shooting these in the back yard through various x bows & the flight is always great. They open fully every single time. Still not a fan of their retaining clip but you get used to it. I’m seeing the same accuracy from their 4 blade fixed head. Just wish it was larger diameter. Maybe they’ll build some 150 heads for us 🤞🏻🙏🏻
