Slide Coliseum Dev Times Quick Guide (CTR Nitro Fueled Developer Times Guide #3)
This video will be a quick guide for Slide Coliseum Developer Time Trials in Crash Team Racing Nitro Fueled. Slide Coliseum Developer Times is one of the Top 5 Hardest Developer Times for me. I don't really like this lap in general. But after the developer times came out, I was forced to learn the track, and really it really gained my praise for it. In the end, I managed to beat Developer time in Slide Coliseum after 72 Attempts, and here are my methods for you.

Pain... Suffering... Took me 50 attempts on Switch. But only about 15 on PS4. A week long break really helped my mental state prepare for this.

I had to figure this out by myself and it felt like a brickwall at times. Keep going at it. This one can get frustrating really fast. Great video like always viper my boy. A tutorial for the big grasscut on tiger tempel would be a great help for me.

At the grass cut near the end of track - on which explained the dev ghost doesn't use - I can imagine how they made those dev times: Dev 1: Okay, William, you take Slide Coliseum! William P. : YES! Dev 1: But you can't use all cut William P. : But why?! Dev 1: I don't want people complaining about how hard our times enough! Dev 2: Challenge is one thing, and it should hard, not impossible! Wiliam P. : But pleeeease...! Dev 2: Enough being a dick, Will! Your time at Crash Cove isn't insane enough of you?!

Your guide is missing the most important thing of all. Getting as much perfect boosts as possible. Thus maintaining reserves thus being on par or ahead of the ghost.

@@TheViperian okay, understandable. But when you beat him. You two were neck and neck. When I beat him I could see his ghost on the map and I never did the second to last grass cut on all three laps. My time saves were due to keeping my flame alive throughout the track.

This is what helped me. If you have to choose between a small crass cut or a slightly slower drift to keep your yellow flame, choose the flame. I was so surprised how easy (and fun!) I found this track. It's been onen of the ones I've learned to love by doing the dev times! Papu's Pyramid on the other hand... if I never play it again, I'll be happy haha

Surprisingly I beat this in only 4 attempts after doing this again on ps4. On switch though took me a good 3 hours. Though I learn to love the track after doing this.

Honestly this track is one if not the hardest tracks for the dev times in my opinion. It requires perfect maintaining of the reserves and a lot of cutting through the grass. I didn’t beat the dev time yet, my best time is 1:41:86 and I’m still trying. Always remember that nothing is impossible though never forget that, never say "impossible" or "I will never beat it" at something you want to achieve. It’s very difficult, that’s why I took a break from it. Do not give up! I will beat that dev time soon, and I am still struggling.

Slide Colosseum, Turbo Track, and Dragon Mines were the absolute worst to do, but I managed to beat all 3 of those tracks

I think I'm just weird, Crash Cove and this I found super easy! But ones other people found easy like Tiny Arena and Papu's Pyramid I REALLY struggled with 😭 Papu specifically made me rage and I'm super chill

i took on this map once again a few days ago after almost 2 years, i did have a record of 1:38:21 but in a day i improved it down to 1:36:83 and yesterday, after just a few tries i improved the time down to 1:35:49. today i tried improving the time once more but instead i got 4 more times under 1:36, getting a good start in slide coliseum is probably the hardest part, after that you basically need a little bit of luck to get fast shortcuts, alot like the fence shortcut in blizzard bluff or the shortcut in sewer speedway, but 3(or 4 kind of) times per lap :D

Hey Viperian, how do cut through the grass or dirt so fast. Do u spam the jump button or tap it repeatedly cause I feel like I am going slow when I cut through the gas

You know Viper, since the CTR Radio is a thing now, you can simply record the music there. That way you don't use a short repeat on the track versions where the last lap signal comes and speeds up thr music. Also I think I just found a little trick in Deep Sea Driving with the U-Turn Technique. I think I would call it the Reverse Turning Technique since the U-Turn is just putting the gear in reverse while you turn with skid marks and sharp air turns with the reverse gear without losing blue flame. At Deep Sea Driving I found out using this technique instead of hoping w/U-Turning in the tubes for the fins makes it a little easier to calculate with this method. Have yet to test it out and maybe I can record it so you can check it out for yourself

Lol i beat all dev time (except crash cove and slide coli for now but I will) and I play analog You just need to switch button controls on ps4 setting to do u-turns (put the down arrow on L2)

I actually beaten this ghost with Drift, it was easier, no u-turn needed at the beginning. Also, the ghost messed up during lap 3 at the 2:30 shortcut

Slide Coliseum is really complicated but once you know the lines and know how to maintain fire it’s actually quite simple

Yeah Naughty Dog never WAS the best at makin' GOOD secret levels in the Crash games. Only REAL exception to that is Eggipus Rex, ALL the others from 1, 2, 3 & this & Turbo Track, hot trash. Hell, I'll GLADLY welcome Turbo Track at this point, at least there's turbo pads there & I don't have to worry about my reserves just up & havin' a stroke & dyin' on me outta nowhere no matter WHAT I'm doin' to keep 'em

Honestly this track was really easy for me especially because the dev can’t or at least doesn’t take the same short cuts every lap and honestly you can beat this ghost without taking shortcuts if you can perfect boost and hold reserves it’s still a difficult track for sure but this was one of my favorite tracks from the original game I love it because it’s pure skill no boost pads no crazy short cuts just you your drifting skills and reserve maintenance I love it just my personal Opinion:P

I hate this track so much. This is hands down my least favorite track in the whole game. Keeping reserves is a pain, every time I do this track I always mess up and it's so freaking annoying. William P just goes extremely fast which makes it harder to catch up to him. This track made me want to give up, due to angry I got I decided to look at the guides and watch people videos to see if it would help me, beat William P.

Fix your videos. (Thats plural) ive attempted to use your guides for a good outline for my attempts, and 95% have absoluetly failed. This map in particular is the biggest flawed one ive seen yet. You left out the part that the second shortcut you take, should be responsible for obtaining your highest speed to be able to even help catch the dev, and maintain that is important. The third "shortcut" can just go around with out having to deal with any possible collision. This guide has me finishing a whole 4 seconds behind the dev. Your only successfully helpful guides are Crash Cove, Blizzard Bluff and Hot Air skyway (and that third one is being nice, because ive definitely found a better way to take the second loop in the map.)
