Thanks for your helpful video. I am looking for a product that doesn't seem too difficult to install and one that could work in cooler climates. This seems like a great option to just pop in and out of the door itself. Your puppy is so cute and sweet! Seems very well loved : ).

Thanks for your kind words! We use this door year round and we’re in Wisconsin so it can be 90 out or -20 and the door works. We don’t have to let her out all of the time. She can just come and go when she wants. She’s very loved in this house 😊 thanks again

(Zsofie Held) I used foam window weather stripping, and foam rubberized door weather stripping. I bought these products at a local hardware store. I did update the description and posted LINKS to AMAZON for the same weather stripping. you will have to do your own measurements for your specific door on the thickness and length and width, etc. I just held the weather stripping up against the door and cut it with a scissors to match where I had air gaps, wasn’t that hard. hope this helps and thanks for the comment 😁

It’s not hard to install at all, I just put the weather stripping on because of the cold temps we get here. Otherwise no problem. Thanks for the comment

All the company videos i watch say it comes WITH the weather stripping, the door sweep AND a lock that goes at door handle height?? Curious

@@Weeone5207 mine did not come with weather stripping. I think it did come with a locking device but we don’t use it. We just use the wooden dowel.

How is it holding up with taking it in and out every day? Does the srpings get worn out? I want one but I can’t drill it permanently cause I’m renting

Mine is holding up great. We didn’t drill at all and I don’t remove it everyday. We just leave the door in most of the time. Thanks for comment and question.

Yes we have a screen, we leave it open when we have the dog door in. Thanks for the question.

@@JessesChannel That's the challenge I have with ours...On nice days, we want to have our door open for the breeze, but have the screen closed. We slide the screen closed up to the insert, but there is about a 2-3 inch gap between the outer frame of the insert and the screen frame.

We don’t have to take it in and out ever. We fit through the door just fine. No problem though, I don’t care at all of you get one or not. It works for us and I’m just sharing what works for us with others. Good luck with whatever you use.
