Sligo is a coastal seaport and county town of County Sligo, Ireland, within the western province of Connacht. It has a population of 20,608. It also has connections with the famous Irish Poet WB Yates.
It's well worth a visit. A really nice town.

Two weeks behind in comments again! Just enough time to watch your last 2 videos and wanted to comment"later". Then life happens and a week has passed by. Loved the Sligo video! We are thinking of having Sligo as a base and explore out from there next Spring. We would also go to Westport- I don't think the rain would dampen our spirit. I guess if rain did, we wouldn't go to Ireland at all! The lovely rivers have to get there water from somewhere!:-) We leave Wednesday for another 3 weeks in your wonderful country. It looks as if you are having much of the same weather we are having here in Ohio. Rain,wind and cold. Keep up the good work. You've really picked some wonderful spots recently .

I have never been to Sligo. My Dad's family were from there, but moved to Scotland during the famine. My mum's side is Donegal/Derry. Next time I am over I'm going to make sure to visit Sligo.

Hi Don. I love your video about Sligo Town. I have subscribed now to your channel. I, with my nephew & his wife, are now seriously thinking of relocating to Sligo instead of Killarney. The main reason is that property in Killarney is a bit expensive for us. I will be watching all your videos gradually. Best regards from Anthony

Brilliant! Had been to Rosses Point as a child. 2022 Sept - horror story. In no city I'm familiar with, Bangkok, Rome, Boston...most pedestrian hostile place ever. Astronomic speed allowed for cars. September 2023 - every hotel full, AIRbnb also. Most bizarre - no way to get to Ben Bulben, Drumcree, Inisfree...unless you have a car and car rentals astronomic.

Great Video , however shame you missed out on the Abbey and Courthouse , you were within touching distance of both when you were outside Foleys .Also for any football fan a visit to showgrounds Muesum again you were beside it when you walked up all the steps with all the Murals on the walls.
