These look glorious even if you aren't dieting. Have you tried using Extra Mature Cheddar (Cathedral City or Pilgrim's Choice are both good & you can get them on offer often) or Parmesan (real from a piece, not the ready-made muck that smells like vomit) You get a lot more "Bang for your Buck" a great deal of flavour from a very small amount. The extra mature cheeses are much drier and contain less fatty oil or oily fat whichever. lol. Try them.

My guess would be the thinnest potatoes to frylight ratio. I guess if you made a bowlful and scoffed them all in one go, that'd be a lot of Frylight and so it'd mean a Syn value. But eating a bowlful isn't suggested!
