comparing Top 1 bands of their style, a little confusing because slipknot's guitars are clearly more complex and various, whether rammsten's are pretty simple yet very beefy and layered + always keeep in mind on their concerts they multiply guitar output x16 times (info from their tech crew), and this is said by me, who was hardcore Rammstein fan, before getting to discover Slipknot:D Top 1 bands of their style - what more can be said

Slipknot has more of a groovy jazz and funk vibe while Rammstein has more of a groovy mechanical vibe.

@@m-h1269 Yup. Exactly that. Ever listen to MFKR? Lots of jazz and funk vibes all over the place on that. Those vibes aren't anywhere near as present in the "official" Slipknot discography, but the influence of jazz and funk is definitely present in their work.

@@andrewg7576 That’s simply called groove, which slipknot really doesn’t significantly have a lot of relatively. Especially in their later work. Rammstein is mechanical, industrial and heavy. Slipknot is raw, chaotic, energetic and heavy. Groove is what you get from bands like Korn.

Slipknot: The vocals complement the instrumental music. The vocals in a song are more important than the music. Emotions. Choleric people like it. Rammstein: Instrumental music complements the vocals. Music is more important than vocals. Calm. Phlegmatic people like it. I like listening to Rammstein better.

Not sure if I feel the same. Don't know Slipknot well enough, not so much my taste. But I also believe that the music and lyrics are built together like two fitting pieces in Rammstein. The music often emphasizes the vocals and the meaning.

Hmm, Imo Slipknot overall sounds a lot more advanced, ofcourse with some much more simple sounding songs, whereas rammstein sounds a lot more easy to play as they play more with powerchords and slipknot plays a little bit more with single notes. However this is just my opinion on what the songs i've heard from both of them sound like, and others may think otherwise.
