Never understood why Sloan doesn’t play at this level all the time 😳. I like her. I really do...wish she was consistent.

She only plays like his when she plays Serena they all play 2 times better when playing Serena

As someone who was a Sabatini fan from a couple of generations ago, I think I understand the problem. Like Sabatini, Stephens is innately a defensive player who worked to add more aggression to their game. Although they CAN be offensive it is not a natural instinct on the court and so they exist in this dubious word between offense and defense. I have never seen a player successful when riding that line. In fact, it creates doubt and confusion and their games become a mess ie: Sabatini, Stephens and others.
@JamaalABivens3 жыл бұрын
@@mcoudeniii very similar to how Ivanovic became. Interestingly, like Ana, Sloane has an incredible forehand, but doesn't maximize its power. Going for more of the lines (especially in practice) would definitely make her much more aggressive.

It's a shame Sloane can't bring a piece of this level to any of her other matches she just lost 6-2 6-2 as the no.1 seed at the Monterrey tourney today.

Serena Is going to have to tone up and work on her footwork. Her serve hasn’t been as big of a weapon, either. I know she’s getting older, but if she works a little bit on a few things, she’ll beat Court’s record. I know she can do it.

Why are sports reporters so annoying, off kilter, and heavily opinionated? Just analyze the action.
@murkymcdarkness3 жыл бұрын
Could not agree more. I am an avid tennis fan. I have heard a lot of other fans voice their opinions about Mary Carillo , and her low key dislike of the Williams sister. I never payed any attention to it. I went back and watched a few matches where she was the commentator. .... They were so right. Very Very opinionated for someone who had no real discernible career.

Yeah. Sloane definitely became a lazy player, you can clearly see on her face that she doesn’t care about winning or loosing

It's so disappointing. She has a very decent all court game when she's dialed in. I like watching her play but hate seeing her so lackadaisical.
@CrossRN18x3 жыл бұрын
You do know some people just aren’t going to react that way on court right? I have a fairly expressionless face too, but it doesn’t mean I don’t care. The thing is, when she’s on and it’s working it gets described as focused and icy so she can’t win for losing.

Wow, the commentators are so tacky, they are just so unprofessional. There’re just uncalled for negative things they’re saying about Serena. I know one is Black, but when you know who they are rooting for, that’s because they’re showing their bias, rather than being neutral! They’re criticizing Serena saying c’mon. I hope they NEVER host her matches again! Serena is just a better player than Stephens, so they should get over themselves!
@maskellmaolseachlainn6347 Жыл бұрын
I love the way Serena shuts down dumb commentators, esp. Mary Carillo. Just listen to how their commentary fizzles as Serena takes control of the match. They couldn't be any more unprofessional and pathetic.

Like most of all say on here.. Serena has to hit those weights like she was at her peak...She definitely out of shape...Watch her eariier at the Toronto open...Although she won her match today but she out of shepe..

Her husband thinks she's great and beautiful. Nice looking couple. She looks different off court and when they're out together. She can Dress. It's a blessing to be able to have any mansion and six figure sport car you want.

Naomi Osaka is American, too. Yes, she did renounce her American citizenship and chose Japanese instead before her 22nd birthday, as per Japanese law. However, since Naomi is a natural-born American she can always reacquire her US citizenship.

Just spewing wrong info. Google is right there
@YT-ph3qb3 жыл бұрын
You mean Japan, yes?
@alesh22753 жыл бұрын
Ben W As per US law, children of American citizens acquire American citizenship irrespective of where they are born. Naomi’s dad is American hence she had double US Japan citizenship until she was 22, when under Japanese law she has to choose only one.
@alesh22753 жыл бұрын
Ron Miller Not wrong info. Google rules for children where one parent is a US and another is a Japanese citizen.

serena holds grudges..she still mad when sloane beat her in Australia. lolll
@katlegondaba11013 жыл бұрын
I think all players had that motivation of not losing to one player too many times I believe that is why there was so much bad blood between her and sharapova.

She's just competitive why wouldn't she hold a grudge about losing and that was almost 10 years ago

Sloane Stephens needs a whole new coaching staff..she doesnt have no kinda power in her serve..she doesnt have any kind of slam shot when the ball is lob in the air by her opponent..Im watching her in the Toronto Open...she was up match point with serve in her turn...Did not ace at all..blew that game..smh..

After giving birth she played 18 tournments winning only 1 out of 6 finals ( one international) . After turning 35, she lost lots of finals...ok she is strong but she is no more the same of years ago. Trying to win, but always losing is not the rigjt way to conclude a carreer. There r lots of players she can lose to...muguruza azarenka kvitova osaka kenin barty...
@Raydoffa3 жыл бұрын
But she can also win against them as well, Serena's best now is Grand Slam title worthy, she just has to work on closing out and staying consistent physically and mentally. She's reached 4 grand slam finals since giving birth! Some tennis players on the tour haven't even reached one Grand Slam final in their whole career. So, instead of hating, how about you encourage her.
