I really enjoy this format with a first-time reader and veterans discussing these books. As a first time reader of this series myself I was watching Stephen and Jake like a hawk, microanalysing their body language to try to decode possible spoilers in the next books. I noticed Stephens eyes twitching ever so slightly when Aviendha was mentioned. Aviendhas death in the next book confirmed! Jokes aside though I've really enjoyed all of your discussion videos of this series thus far, you've earned a sub!

This book is inexcusable. Thankfully Knife of Dreams is infinitely better so far, it even has a plot. But like you said, you can’t really quit at this point of the series. Glad I got through it.

Right. I was so hyped when I got to book 11 last year. Jordan's last book before passing and I had the last og cover before BAM stopped selling them

This was really the only book so far I've felt was a slog. There were parts of other books that were slow, but this entire book was meh

The slog or as we called it, the lull was so named because it originally took just a tad under 10 1/2 years from the release of book 7 to book 11. At least readers today can blow through books 8-10 and know the rest of the series is waiting for them immediately on the other side greatly diminishing the near depression state we endured waiting for book releases.

Do you guys recommend reading New spring next or jumping right into KoD on your first read? I just finished crossroads of twilight for the first time

Either way honestly. If you are okay jumping back in time and getting some clarification on Moraine & Lan do NS. But if you just want this storyline to continue then you can keep on going through the main books

Mat killed Melindra in FoH. He doesn’t like killing women but Rand is worse. Rand killed one dark friend in TDR but that’s the only one. Rand couldn’t kill Lanfear.
