Slovakia PM in life-threatening condition after shooting

With Slovakia's prime minister's life hanging in the balance - his political rivals and supporters have come together to denounce the assassination attempt - calling it an attack on Slovak democracy.
Robert Fico was hit in the stomach after a gunman opened fire during a meeting with supporters in the town of Handlova, just over 100 miles from the capital Bratislava.
He was airlifted to hospital - where the next few hours will prove critical.
A warning - there are shocking images from the very start of this report.

They did well considering the circumstances. As another said, the shooter was subdued quickly and the pm was swiftly taken to his vehicle. The problem is you don’t know anything about actual combat and think action movies are an accurate reflection of real life.

It is all about people values. Democracy, political views, religion is not a value. True value are life and health. If you do not have life, you can not have a view. If you do not have healts, you to not care about money, politics, democracy, war, you only wait for educated and moral people will help you soon. I can not believe the police officer who was standing to the right of him and who simply ran away when he heard the shots. Not a single police officer reacted or drew their weapons. Also when the PM was shot, not a single person from his detail stayed focused on him. The security agent immedietly next to him watched him hit the floor and had a delayed reaction when unholstering his weapon. There could have been other shooters in the crowd and nobody was focused on the PM except the shooter.

@@helicoptergunship I believe that originally “Judged by a Jury of his peers” meant judged by those who had witnessed the crime. The origin of a jury I believe was in cases where guilt was in doubt. “Alleged” is a popular reporting nicety which is redundant in cases like this. In many cases applied to the facts; “alleged killing” for example.

The close guard in blue, closes to the PM actually MOVES AWAY FROM HIM. There are 3 shots no response to the first 2 shots like the one officer in black suite near the shooter responded immediately he is in black suite.

we are not you from america when all of you have a gun most peaple even son of the alleged atacker didnt even know he dad a gun if it was him and somone didnt just use him to get away so bodyguards didnt know what happened untill 2 seconds after the shots becouse again slovakia rarelly see anything more serious than pickpocketing or car accidents so most of our bodyguards and other peaple are just gurding things of our presidents and prime ministers

Something's not quite right. Guards are way too slow to react, spectators are not immediately going for cover, almost no reaction you would expect from anybody hearing and probably seeing shots fired right next to you. The officer in white calmly observing the perimeter.
