Here's a few things for jam backing tracks: Use ready made tracks templates. Practise with a few peopIe and ask for tips and advice. (l discovered about these and more from Makale Jam Plan website).

On the last D7 chord before resolving to the G7 I was playing the Ab whole tone scale before playing over G7 and it sounds pretty good. I've been practicing that whole tone sequence and it's pretty good. Thanks QuistJam as always for the great tracks.

Well, I came here for the backing track and ended up having a difficult time pulling myself away from your intro work. Great phrasing and you're one of the few I've heard in a very long time that seem to play blues "the right way" - where every little nuance is important - love it man!

hi Quist I've been jamming on your tracks for a long time, and I always come back. When you jam at the beginning are you improvising? I mean does every note you play belong to a lick you learnt before? or do you let your hands and mind go and just play? In other words is it crucial for me to learn licks to be a better improviser or is just jamming along enough? Thank you!

Hi Paul, great to hear! i'm always improvising the intros yes.... lots of jam time is gold. Combining it with new licks is great..if you compare improv playing to speaking - learning new licks is just like, say, reading a book and thus expanding your vocabulary. being creative in your jamming is key, but don't be afraid to continually mix in new licks to expand your musical vocabulary along the way....you will give em your own twist the more you jam......

You should learn really small licks and turn them into big licks by combining them
