Slow flight is one of THE most fundamental skills in aviation. It is a skill you utilize in every single flight from takeoff to landing. As a student, understanding the energy exchange occurring when slowing down an airplane, and the different handling characteristics of the plane in slower flight can be hard concepts to understand. Here we aim to make those things a little clearer.

I really appreciate you taking the time to make informative beginner flight videos. I am 58 and hope to start my private pilot training soon. Some of my best memories with my dad when he was alive were flying with him when I was 12. Thanks again. Paul

great video! Did you use the trim during this demonstration at all?

Yep! Always trim for configuration changes unless it’s a temporary change. You saw that I was hands off once I was configured for slow flight, so whatever is required in your plane to achieve that is what you should be doing 👍
