Slow Jigging with Yamamoto Hiroto in Klang, Malaysia

Shimano Singapore's John went on a two-day fishing trip with Japanese Pro-angler, Mr Yamamoto Hiroto when he was shooting a video in Klang, Malaysia.
On the first day, John tried out slow-jigging for the first time and was unable to achieve the same relaxed and beautiful rod action as Mr Yamamoto. Tired but not giving up, John decided to get some tips and pointers on Day 2.
Watch how Mr Yamamoto is able to help improve John's slow-jigging technique and maybe improve your's with the various tips and techniques shared in this video.

Hi, yes. The reel is an Ocea Jigger 1500. Mr Yamamoto will switch between HG & PG depending on the water conditions.

awesome awesome share!!! what rod r u using? i am using game type J slow jig rod extra heavy, with 8 oz jig, its kind hard to make outward pull like you. may i know what is your setup. thanks

Hi Charles, Mr Yamamoto is using Shimano Ocea Jigger Infinity Motive rod: You can find more information here: fish.shimano.com.sg/content/fish/asia/sg/en/homepage/ProductPage.P-OCEAJIGGERINFMOTIVE.html Depending on the water conditions and the jigs he is using, he will change his rod accordingly. But the rods are all from the Ocea Jigger Infinity Motive rod line-up.

The water depth is around the range of 30-40metres.

Hi, Mr Yamamoto uses different line poundage and jig weight for different fishing conditions. For this trip, he was using PE2(approx. 30lbs) Shimano Ocea Jigger MX4 line. For jigs, he was using around 160g - 200g.
