Pan #2: did I spot drain plug location correctly as drivers side/rear? I ask, because with wrapped headers the pan I currently have has drain plug on the side, and... it's just trouble.

Trap door:Is it not to shut off the idle from the oil by hard braking???
@MorosoPerformance6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your inquiry, the trap door baffle is there to supply oil to the oil pump pickup tube under/during hard acceleration.

Will the Moroso 20180 fit a 1980 Chevrolet monte carlo ,with my aftermarket stock pan the front of the crankshaft hits the oil pan,I have a deep sump oilpump?Thanks
@MorosoPerformance Жыл бұрын
Our stock style pans like the one you mentioned, should clear up tp 4.125" with most steel rods. Make sure you get the correct pick up for the pan with your pump.

So i bought a cobra tek chrome oil pan off amazon for a 1pc rear main seal with a fel pro 34500 gasket, i have a stock timing cover and my pan leaks from the front seal, will there be any issues with this pan and gasket from moroso if i wanna keep my stock front seal or will i have to change that to get a perfect seal?
@MorosoPerformance13 күн бұрын
Our pans and gaskets are based on a THICK front seal, much like the 34500 gasket. So if you have that style timing cover, which I'm pretty sure you do, I don't see there being any issues. Unless this is a freshly built engine, and still needs to break in. On a fresh build you can have some blow-by, but that leak will typically be at the back.

Do you still use 5 quarts of oil with these performance pans?
@MorosoPerformance10 ай бұрын
It really depends on the pan. The application dictates the design and dimensions, and that determines capacity. So just as an example, a lot of the more race oriented pans with an 8.25" depth are going to be around 6.5 to 8 qts (not including your filter). Was there a specific pan you were looking for or looking into? If you need more help, don't hesitate to call our tech line.

Dont know if you still answer to these comments but here we go. I have a 1979 Chevrolet g20 van with a 350 engine and 350th transmission. What Oil pan will work for a van? Thanks in advance
@MorosoPerformance Жыл бұрын
If that is a 2 piece rear main seal motor with a driver-side dipstick, our 20170 pan will work. This pan will require one of our oil pickups as well due to the trap door baffle in the sump. We offer a few different pickups for different oil pump models.

What would you recomend for a 355 performance block
@MorosoPerformance20 күн бұрын
Depends on what you're trying to do with the engine, and what car it's going into. Most core based, 8.250" deep pans will fit just fine in MOST cars. If you need help and have some time, give us a call directly, and we can figure out the best option for you! (203) 453 - 6571, ask for the tech dept. We're in the office 8:15 to 5:00 mon thru friday EST.
