I had been looking for a small refractor/guide telescope to use with my lightweight tracking mount for longer exposure/tracked photos when I came across this little telescope. I am so impressed with the clean optics and thoughtfulness that went into this. The image quality is much better than equivalent sized achromatic refractors of similar aperture. The FOV is more narrow because of the 750mm focal length, but its worth it to have cleaner images.
The build quality is very good too down to the coating inside. Even the small tripod works quite well, though I don't plan to use it for tracking. I really like that the tripod can be adjusted with screws and then the handle tightens both the altitude and azimuth tension simultaneously. The phone adapter really only works with the included eyepiece, but it is much easier to set up than other phone adapters I've used. There are even collimation screws when needed.
My only gripe is the lack of a finder. It really needs at least a red dot to help align on night time targets given the narrower FOV. I've used a 32mm eyepiece that helps widen the FOV somewhat.
I designed a solar filter holder and mount for this fantastic little telescope. Details about how to print it can be found here: www.thingiverse.com/thing:482...
