Super solid specs like a fixed wide angle lens, no optical or sensor image stabilization, bad rolling shutter, no RAW stills, 8-bit footage only, 4k30 max with poor 1080p quality at 60 or 120fps, and no ability to use Sony's own MI shoe microphones. Sounds like a great buy.

The fuji xt200 is $500 for black friday. Got the same deal last year and zero regrets. Fantastic camera with an interchangeable lens. Comparable to Canon m50 (but a better kit lens and screen)

No RAW is just plain dumb. There is no reason for that other than to protect sales from their more expensive lineup. Basically this was not made with quality in mind but rather just to widen the market to attract people with less budget.

I have the ZV E10 which is also made for content creators and it ****ing slaps, especially when you stick a decent portrait lens on it. It has a button specifically to get soft backgrounds (not the fake ones your iPhone does, real ones with wide aperture). That alone is worth it, plus it's super light & durable.

I am an enthusiast content creator, Sony is extremely unfriendly to use. I can never find anything, nothing makes sense. Ive logged about 50hrs into various Sony Cameras. 30 of those on an A73. I still never figured out how to properly use it. My Canon RP took about 2 hrs to figure out most of the features.

Personally I would spend the extra $200 and get the more amazing Sony AF on their slightly higher end ones. I mean it’s a great little camera but has contrast based AF instead of phase detect like all other Sony cameras. It’s not bad and has great picture quality as well as having a great price. But if your moving around or needing autofocus that’s going to track or follow anything get the Zv-1 or the zv-e10. The ZV-e10 is where I would spend my money if I was new to KZfaq or content creation. Also just know that it’s a fixed focal length lens so your getting locked lens no real zoom. It does offer digital zoom but on these smaller sensor cameras it’s not good enough to use. 🤷🏼‍♂️ just know it’s a great price and budget option and you can use it for HDMI output for twitch streams but the contrast AF is not as good as other Sony cameras

And you can’t change the lens on it so you cannot upgrade anything about it in advance. Really happy I got my a6000 and bought a couple of extra lenses instead of this thing. Waste of money imo. Get a a5100 if you want something cheap that will hold up a bit in the future.

Better off using your smartphone. The sensor size is only 1 inch so night shots will be the worst of any $500 camera. You can get a camera with a much bigger sensor that's a few years old but will have much better quality and changeable lenses. This is a gimmick camera. But hey he is probably making a bunch of money for this content.
