You level property, you build foundations, You repair earth dams, and make ponds, you clear property, you mow ditches, you make retaining walls, only thing I have not seen you do is move mountains. You guys are miracle workers. Thanks for sharing with us your expertise. I guess your next line of work is making tunnels through a mountain.

Lots of work with some good weather and great crew! Can't help but notice, it's important to have the concrete truck operator working well with where to pour it on while pouring the floor. Helps lots to make the plan come together. Guess he's done this a bit. Nice job by all. (And, like I used to say in work, my biggest decision of the day was what to have for lunch!) Carry on and THANKS! Sonny (CT)

I know vertical rebar was not required by code due to wall not being over six foot BUT I think theres still value in putting them in. I've been on a couple of jobs where the rebar wasn't cast in but holes were drilled into the footer 6" and rebar was stood up. The reason was to prevent creep shifting down through the years which happens with the expansive soils we have here locally.

Just a layer of thick poly works well too. It allows you to slide around on your belly or back and it keeps the dampness out of the floor. In all the years of helping my Dad with his building/renovation business around Lake Simcoe the crawl spaces with poly floors were the ones I didn’t dread going under. Of course the ones that were a row or 3 of block higher were a lot easier too.

You guys are great, you make a good team, your corporation has a lot of departments I see, so who manages the Wardrobe Department? Curious, I noticed at 1:10 there was NO rebar coming up out of the footers. When I built my ICE house I helped lay the rebar and we had the rebar extend 36" above the concrete footers and placed little PVC "doughnuts" on them and when the ICF foam blocks were all set I went back at night with a flashlight and fished 10' sticks of rebar down the void in the wall and into the "doughnut" at the bottom. Could not do this in the bright sunlight of the day. Love living in my ICF Fortress, we just had a little visitor here on the Gulf Coast recently, Baldwin Co., AL, you may have heard about her, she went by the name of Sally, she unplugged our power for 5 days so we were on diesel generator power, love that diesel but I am getting too lazy for this silliness and will be having a propane 20 kW whole house standby system installed within a month. We are still cutting and dragging trees out to the roadway for the trucks to pick up and turn into much. I put 8 miles on my truck just today dragging trees, hilarious when I looked down at the odometer, I'm only on a 5-acre plot out in the country, lot's O'dragging. It felt nice in the house during the night with the winds howling outside, yes we have a metal roof so we were all good, no damage to the crib but the trees will recover like they always do. Living in paradise has its downside. So why do babies and hurricanes always come at night???????

Lol where oh where do I start??? First when I seen that mud I was like send it back ;-) yep yep an from your words?? That is a man with experience !! 9 foot walls + Campbell soup concrete = a real pain in the as_s blow out .. but ICF is easier to repair than a standard poured wall.... Like wise when we started out we braced like crazy following the company protocol. But we found a top 2x6 " L " brace an corners were all that was required... I cannot remember how many years ago it was we poured our first ICF wall but I know it was in the first year after they come out with them.... They were actually cheaper on our worker com rates due to the fact no backbreaking work compared to the old forms.. but yep yep you did a mighty fine job!! The only thing we do different on our crawl space floors?? We use a 16-ft wide Viber strike to float it down. Tends to put the milk on the footer easier blend in AN far less backbreaking ;-) ..... The one tool you got that turns me to jelly is the self-propelled packer 🤗 we still run the 4 Armstrong slower than cold frigid molasses gas powered viper Packers.. I so could fall in love with that roller 👍... Over all a most excellent job !! Edited fur a stupid spell boo boo....

As a builder, I prefer concrete slabs, but this is a better way to do a crawlspace. Concrete block wick moisture and allow it to transfer to the inside of the crawlspace. Houses are not designed to take baths on the interior. The ICF system provides a water tight and well insulated wall for all foundation types. I have never used those particular forms but they look nice. I use Integra Spec panels and can pump in 10' lifts with zero blow outs.

Nice specs! I'm enjoying the videos and the way you and the crew interact. The work day is always better when adding in some fun (i.e. hair parting). I'm used to seeing verticals (rebar) coming into the stem walls from the footer. In fact, I don't recall seeing them in the last video (when you poured the footers) either. Did I miss that or did this job not require them? If no verticals what keeps the stem wall bonded to the footer? Based on the fact that you mentioned the crawl space might be used as a storm shelter I would think tying stem wall to footer would be important.

How did you tie the walls to the footer? Did you drill and epoxy rebar or were you just relying on the weight of the walls to keep them in place? Granted, my house was built with a full basement and I had a keyway formed into the footer to keep the walls from shifting at a later time. I only ask because yours is the first video I've watched using ICF walls. I like the concept.

So, you are just doing the outside of the slab for the foundation with ICF? What is the difference in that and just using concrete blocks? I am sure there are many.... a couple I can think of off the top of my head (pest and moisture control) but isn't it much more expensive??? Just wondering. BTW, the homeowner has a beautiful site for the house and really enjoyed your drone footage.

Question 1: Is it ever necessary or desirable to trim the lugs off the bottom course of the ICF forms when placing on the footers? Question 2: Is it better to have rebar dowels placed into the footers so as to better secure the crawl space walls to the footers? It looks like there will be a "cold joint" now between the crawl space walls and footer, n'est-pas?

Do you just bend the rebar over the sill plate?

It’s not rebar. They are anchor bolts. L shaped anchors with threaded ends that are left sticking out. www.homedepot.com/p/Grip-Rite-1-2-in-x-8-in-Hot-Galvanized-Anchor-Bolt-1-Pack-128GAB50E/203399746

Floor drains in crawl space ?? I worked with a mechanic in a power station that was "shorter" than most. Big man, big heart just shorter than most. While the rest of us were bumping and smashing our heads into the overhead pipes and conduit [thank heavens for hard hats ] he was laughing and running about. Can't judge a person by there stature. We know you all are joking. Always enjoy your videos. Take care all

Why no rebar in the crawlspace pour? Is it because it has the walls to hold it together?
