I like how it utterly catches my attention and I can't make any sense of it but I don't care nonetheless. I'm not entertained directly by the animation but by observing myself puzzling at the animation.

My understanding of it: There is a society where killing is not treated with the same severity as in our culture; it is a part of everyday life. The people of the society have created little men in hats that are there to perform tasks for people, and are treated as disposable. The little hat people themselves even believe that they are disposable. But in the end the boy stands up for them and the little hat men appreciated it.

Everyone will make their own image of the small people with hats. I think the D man is the little kid. The little people with hats represent his emotions every scene was different one. The mother was killing them by destroying things he loved. The ABC was his brain and D was his ego.

I will try to understand this carefully... I feel bad for those who don't even want to think.

I don't feel bad, just sad that "commentators" need to ask "what does that mean?" That's what the creators don't want to hear. Most comments that are negative, I have become aware of illiterate, lack of grammar, and ridiculous misspellings. Hardly anyone can be articulate without being accused of being a snob!

Six years later, now in the context of #BLM this short gives me a shiver. A world divided into two groups of people just because of their different physical appearances ("races"), one group beeing treated as disposables ("blacks"), and mechanistic men in the back room ("white leaders") deciding arbitrarily who is next to die. Then there's the brutally excecuting lady ("police"), and eveything is intertwined with each other so it seems to be an inevitable system in perfect order - but without emotions. And then something goes wrong, it was just a little act (mixing up the two briefcases) that starts to shake everything. Leaders and excecuting forces are loosing control. The excetuting force is brought down, people start to conect with each other regardless of their looks, and it's time for the men in the back room the take their hats and leave (only to set up a new scenario where they can play their game again, it seems). The interesting aspect is, that the brutal executer is killed by her own son, which she had to take to the psychiatrist (because he couldn't cope with the sick world he's living in). Reflecting on his own experience, the boy only realizes the brutality of the systerm, eventhough it noorishes him. Translating this into the situation now in 2020, the BLM movement needs the support of the white youth to end this inhuman system. Anyway, it's a great short with superb story telling, well designed sound effects and excellent cuts.

from what I understand, is that they are killing small men because I don't know. and men have the letters of the alphabet. The man that appears at the beginning is D (I can't speak anymore) D:
@kisaah80353 жыл бұрын
And those who are in that company are A, B, C and the rest is the set of 4 letters (in total there are 5 men) so they look for a way to kill them
@kisaah80353 жыл бұрын
And the numbers that appear in the ink are to take out knives to kill them, then the lady begins to kill everyone, until the boy becomes half friends with the little men
@kisaah80353 жыл бұрын
And he can't because they are going to kill him. And it is very obvious that the child has a very bad image of the mother and holds a grudge against her. And he makes a more specific movement than me then he kills her and that's it lol
