Thanks Alley, lovely to hear from you. Hope you and your family are safe. Hop you can still skate on your beautiful rink. No problems self isolating there! It was always empty! But you may be indoors soon and I hope there is somewhere you and your wheels can get some roll time.

Great idea to let people know how to do skate stuff indoors! Sorry that you will only have a verandah to skate on but better than nothing. Perhaps the only good thing that will come of all this is that when it is over we will appreciate the things we took for granted so much more.....All the best to you and yours.

Thanks a lot for your video and good advice. If I love skating it is thanks to you, in spite of my age (around 60). Time to put on my skates and do some practice indoors. Good luck and stay well and healthy you too. We need you. Best wishes from south Spain

Thank you, Asha! I hope you are well where you are. We are fortunate to be allowed to skate outdoors where I live; but I love skate jamming -- and how it takes up minimal space! I've actually heard from several folks who've been purchasing their first pair of skates because of the quarantine - to practice indoors. So, your tutorials are very timely. Hopefully, putting into practice what you teach us will benefit our mental and physical health. Wishing you well from the States! Cheers! = D

Small spaces work, great! Thanks so much and stay healthy! I just started trying to skate again after a couple of decades of no skating so simply doing this type of stuff in my living room will help my body learn balance and stability on skates again. So helpful!

@@SkatefreshVideos not sure if it's a good decision yet... I'm a little old for it at 53 but I've got an energetic dog that needs more exercise. I can't run or jog due to the impact on bad knees and lower back so I'm gonna try to roll. Less impact but still a good workout for both of us. I really appreciate the beginner videos you post, they're very helpful.

Yes thats very common as thats when people "relax" and straighten their knees which makes their weight go back on the heels and over you go. Knees bent at all times.

So glad. With all the dance steps and other small space skills Ill be posting Im giving Easy, Medium and Hard versions of each, so everyone can learn something and keep developing from one to the other. I bet you've got a skate dancer inside you that you just haven't had the time to recognise as you've been so busy pelting downhills and Power stopping like mad! Skating is such a great sport with all the different modalities.... something for everyone and something for all "situations".

Check out my tutorial on 5 different transition methods (next to this video in playlist). I'm doing a series of non-dance skills doable in small spaces so keep checking every few days as I get more organised filming in isolation (I miss my camera people).

If you don't do any slides like T-stop the floor should be fine. Wheels are rubber like the soles of your shoes. Test it out in a small corner and see if there is any 'evidence' first..... Good luck!

I'm trying to do the walking (I'm on flat pile carpet in my house) and I can't do it. However, if I hold onto the back of a chair, I can walk (and run, but I'm trying to be considerate of my neighbors below). Is this because of the carpet or do you think my technique is keeping me from "walking." (Like, I'm putting weight on the wrong leg, the wrong part of the foot or skate, or something else...) Thanks!
