I mill the same way you mill. I was taught (and you usually always see demonstrated), plane a face then edge joint. That never made sense to me. I've always found it constricting in the same sense you do. It's refreshing to see it demonstrated and explained the way you did. You're videos are excellent. I cannot imagine the work and time involved in setting up camera shots, editing, etc. Buy I hope you become more active on KZfaq again. Thanks for sharing!

One of the best KZfaq videos on furniture making I have seen, I've been making furniture for 23 years and I've learnt some new techniques in the last 7 mins, don't sell yourself short, this content is amazing.

I agreed with Hatch below...I will change the way I square up material the next time the need arises. Great series so far. Thanks for posting.

Great content so far! Subbing, I don't want to miss a thing! I've been a casual woodworker for 35 years, have read libraries full of books and magazines, and watched months worth of videos. I am now getting more serious and doing some paid work. I have learned a few things in the first two episodes, keep up the great work!

Thanks for these videos. Saw your work in Kerrville a few months ago. Stunning.

I’ve been doing the planer first so I could see the surface and pick the side I want to see. Plus if they are a bit wider than needed, I can rip at an angle to get grain straighter.

Interesting system with RIP & flip. I will give it a go. On a side point, I noticed you use a Grizzly 8" jointer. How does it perform? Any issues with it?

Nice video, Philip! What type of glue do you use? It looks thinner than TiteBond.

Are you wearing Apple Air buds Pro? Do they work well in the shop or do you mainly use them for the microphone feature? I’d love to get something easier to wear and kill the noise of the shop and listen to music.

John Gates check out IsoTunes. They’re ear buds that have the foam ear plugs as the ear piece so they stay in place and reduce the noise immensely. I absolutely love mine...and I’m a self-professed music quality snob. Great product.
